Tami- thanks for posting this site! I'm so glad I didn't know about BDW a year ago when i first got engaged b/c this site has taken over my life! There is so much more to think about than had ever crossed my mind! If I had been thinking about all of this for the past year i think i would be single by now : ) I think i'm doing the hand ceremony now. And i like the red rose idea too.

We did a hand blessing too. There must be many varieties out there...here was the sample our minister sent us. I remember him saying something about children at the actual ceremony, and it being longer than this because our arms were getting tired...lol very similar to Tami's though:

We are doing traditional vows but we also wrote our own. We checked out this website (warning alot of it is cheesy) Welcome | 365vows.com and pulled out the things we wanted to express. Instead of both of us repeating the same thing, he will say one verse, I will say the second and we will alternate back and forth. We are also doing the hand and sand ceremony.
