Sadly, sometimes it's just out of sight out of mind. Or maybe like Rachel said there is some jealousy? Some people see California as this magical land of paradise, especially L.A. Maybe the mere fact that you moved here turned them in to haters a long time ago, and now you're having this fabulous Jamaican wedding...who do you think you are? LOL

When I moved to L.A. I lost ties with people I thought were friends, some of whom were just mad that I got out and they didn't...whatever. I do still have a group of close friends but a lot dropped off (and good riddance!). I don't know if that's the case with you but your story made me think of that.

In these cases I can only say cling to your man. I wouldn't want to tell my friends to throw me a party either, if they don't do it on their own so be it. As much as it hurts they are teaching you a lot about themselves so don't miss the lesson. Good luck :o)

Not ONE of my so-called friends has even asked me about my dress, my hair, offered to help out in any way. There was no bridal shower and sadly no bacherlorette party unless I plan it for myself and pay for it!!

I'm the only one out of the "group" to get married. I'm sorry, i just had to vent!
I'm in the same boat! None of my bridesmaids are married, and none have made any attempt to plan a shower or bachelorette party or anything for me. Infact, only one of them has applied for their passport and we leave within 3 months! I love them, but yeah, as you put it, not the most responsible girls!

i think your right starchild. I think that's why I'm okay with not having a bridal party. I didn't want to put people up there just to "fill shoes". Thanks for the advice!

wow, that's even worse. I thought that one of the roles of your MOH or bridesmaids were to do those types of things for you. I didn't want to think this, but I am starting to sorta think that this may be a jealously thing.

Yayyy!!!! I'll be at the Riu from May 6th - 15th, then we are honeymooning at Couples San Souci from 15th - 20th!! Our actual wedding is May 10th! I see that you are getting married on the 12th.....is that a Monday?

The funny thing is, I am 28 (turning 29 in August), and we are all in the same age range (late 20's - mid 30's). You would think that I was dealing with children.

Ugh, that sounds so frustrating!!!! I am so worried that my "friends" are going to act like that too.... No one else is married. I had a mini-breakdown at first and a couple friends came to my rescue. But since then they've either slipped away or just gotten busy with "life". It's hard because I don't have a Mom (she died when I was 17) and my best friend is 30 and has been having relationship issues for the past 3-4 years (jealousy issues!). It definitely feels lonely.

Anyways, I'm really hoping that my friends come through for me when it's time...AND I HOPE YOURS DO THE SAME FOR YOU!!! Sheesh girls, it's a wedding - don't we all love this kinda stuff?!? wink.gif
