My trainer doesn't want me to weigh myself ... but she asks if I have lost weight -- meaning do m,y clothes fit any differently.

I don't care what my weight says as long as I LOOK the way I want to look (although losing some serious LBs is still the goal!).

I started working out around the same time you did and I don't think I've lost much weight, if any yet ... but I am seeing a difference in my body.

michelle, my trainer told me to not weigh myself except for once every other week. he said any time i get the urge, pull out a measuring tape (a fabric one, not the stiff ones) and measure around my thigh, hips, waist, biceps and shoulders --- this will more accurately show your progress.

because when you start working out in addition to eating right, you will first gain a little muscle, so the scale wont be an accurate indicator. whats important is that you gain muscle mass to replace the fat mass. let me see if i can find my progress chart and i'll scan it so you can see the proper places to measure. i promise you will not feel as bad about yourself as when you step on the scale. the scale is in out bathroom but i hid it behind the toilet so i cannot get to it as easily haha

I will have to get my original measurements from the trainer and that way I can measure my progres....w/out the scale...

When I lost weight last year ... I didn't see/feel any results in the first few weeks .. but then BAM it was like all of a sudden. SO definitely give yourself more time.

My trainer did say 6 weeks before I will see any real results, so I'm gonna trust her and keep working on it! lol

That's good advice...thanks! Patience isn't my best quality. :)

I'm curious thought...I know there is a thread on breakfast foods...but what do you girls eat throughout the day like a sample days meal...to give me an idea if I need to drastically change my diet....

I aways have weight issues. We're really hard on ourselves too... Michelle you need to celebrate those 3 pounds. let them encourage you to loose more not the oposite. IT will come just be patient. I know its hard and easier said than done.

Looking at your ticker...you got 3 months to go. 3 months is PERFECT! Seriously just keep on yourself and you'll melt away the pounds. Stay strong girly!!

Michelle - Check out some of the recipe threads under the WW group! Also there's great recipes on CookingLight.com :)

3 pounds is awesome! In my WW meeting there's this girl who's lost over 100 pounds. They counted up all the pounds she's lost and divided it by the number of weeks... turns out she was only losing about .75 pounds per week - but they added up and now she's almost at her goal weight!

I agree - a lot of times when I'm "watching" what I eat and not actually counting I am drastically under-estimating how many calories I'm eating. If you want you should join like SparkPeople or a free website like that which helps you count calories :)

I know you want to lose faster but I am jealous! I wish i could lose 1 pound a week! That is perfect. Plus it's been shown over and over again that the slower you lose weight the easier it is to keep it off.

Thanks for the confidence...I hate myself that I can't even be happy for the little bit that I have lost, I mean it could be worse and I could have gained... sad.gif

I guess it's just the fear of the unknown...I know that for me losing 5 lbs or even 6 is doable...but it's been awhile since I have lost so much and this time it is just so much more important that i actually accomplish it so I am being so hard on myself..I guess I should wait and freak out in march or april if I'm not seeing results huh? :0
