so confused...

I'm so lost at the moment. I went dress shopping in MN just before we moved to AZ, and found the dress of my dreams. I had planned on flying back to get measured and for my alterations.

However, now that I've started my job, things are more unpredicatable than I thought, so flying home to do all this seems like it would be pretty tough.

So I figured I'd order my dress here and do alterations here. However, not being from here and not knowing many people here I was unsure of where to go. So I start googling my brains out. First problem that I run into is that I cannot find a bridal store that carries the line of dress (Watters) and that has the specific dress I want. I figure I can solve this by getting measured here and ordering the dress from Macy's in MN and then do my alterations here.

Enter second problem. In my googling searches I have found nothing but horrid reviews of the bridal salons here and their service and altering abilities.

So what now? This is probably one of the most important details of the wedding - THE DRESS! And the dress I want is a lace overlay and I'd assume that would be harder to alter.... anyway. I'm so lost.

Does anyone live in Phoenix, scottsdale, tucson, anywhere near here that can recommend a place?

I feel like if I want to make sure all goes well I'm going to have to fly back and forth..... which would be hard to coordinate with my ever changing work schedule, not to mention spendy..... what do I do?!!! Ugh...

Dang! Hopefully some of the local girls can recommend somebody. Sometimes the best people are in the small shops without websites, it sounds scary but check the yellow pages for that.

I once had a prom dress made by a woman who worked out of her home, and I heard about her from a friend who used her for quinceneara dresses. She showed me an album of her work, wedding dresses and all, and she was excellent. Maybe ask co-workers if they know of seamstresses too.

Good luck!!!

that is so true. I have a lady back home that I bring everything to and she's awesome. Is located in a dry cleaners in a little strip mall..
