Question for the slideshow queens and photographers.. how do I get my DIY slideshow that I created in iPhoto to look as clear and crisp as the professionals that are posted online? It plays my .mov on screen fine, but when I upload to photobucket or google videos, the quality is horrible... I'm sure it has to do with compression or something but I can't seem to figure it out..

Also, one fabulous photographer shared this website with me.. this program is so great.. it allows you to create slideshows that move to the beat of the music instead of just music and each slide moves at the same speed. What a great way to incorporate more photos and make it really fun... too bad it's really expensive (but great for professionals)

Anyone know of a less expensive option for this feature? I'm on a Mac.

Unless you are privately hosting that video somewhere, you aren't going to get the quality online. For instance, Leigh, Juan, Jonathan, etc all have their own websites and their own hosting so they can have large files (ie slideshows) without losing quality. Such a place where you could upload something like that might exist, but it certainly wont be free.

Show It software is fun- Juan turned me on to that too. I just didn't want to pay for expensive software when I didn't know how much I'd use it. You can accomplish the same thing in Movie Maker (but it's windows so that doesn't help you much) because it let's you "see" the beat of the music, but you're still doing it manually.

OK, I guess this was more of an informative post than a helping post. Sorry I couldn't do better!

Ah, that's what I was thinking but was hoping that wasn't the case.

I'm at work right now Angela so I'm unable to give you the program name I bought but it did everything showit did for a little bit cheaper. I researched showit quite a bit because I wanted to make my own slideshows too.

The program I got (racking my brain here for remember the name of it) lets you put music to the timing of the slides. I love it!!! I haven't been able to upload them though because the output is too large of a file for photobucket. I never tried youtube or anything, so I may have to give it a shot.

I'll be back on tonite and I'll be able to tell you more info about the program. It's worth looking into for sure.

angela - i have good news for you. i believe for what you want to do, imovie would be sufficient. you can add in a music track and transitions, and its very easy to do. but i would be happy to walk you through it if you need help! in college, i was always in charge of the sorority recruitment videos because im a mac user and i always did them with imovie and they turned out great.

Oh, I have iMovie.. I'll check it out.. I can create a slideshow in iPhoto (with music) but it doesn't transition slides to the beat of the music.. just at a set pace. (2 secs, 3sec, etc.) I'll check it out and let you know if I run into problems.. Mel I'm really curious to see your program too..

I use Proshow Producer. It's great! I've only been able to play around with it a little bit. i know the program has alot of capabilities I still need to explore. I purchased it for $150 but I can't find the site. I found this site which states it's alot more but there's no way I'd pay that much so I know it's out there cheaper.
