Fans, Parasols or Both?

I already bought fans, but I really want parasols because we are getting married in the dead of summer....

Do you really think people with use both? I like the idea of the fans. Maybe we can use those later in the evening after the sun goes down.

Oh and about the parasols....does each person need one? Or like can two ppl share one? I know there are different sizes, but let's just say the standard size....do you think they are big enough to share? I think less is more, know what I mean? I don't want it to be an overabundance of parasols.

You could definitely use them at different times... you could get parasols for the wedding - and I would probably only get them for the ladies. Then you could use your fans somewhere else - maybe attach a menu to them and put them on the plates or chairs at dinner?

We did parasols at the ceremony (with program fans- the paper leaf kind, not the wicker kind), and paper fans at the reception. People used all of them. See? Here's Tammy with hers...lol

We had one parasol for each couple, one fan for each person.

The only thing is that I want the parasols to protect our guests from the sun...it's going to be HOT in July.

I purchased both, but the parasols only for my wedding party, the fans I bought 50 and figured I can figure out later if I need to order more. It can't hurt to have a bucket of parasols in case anyone else would use them, but I haven't done that. Perhaps I will go to China Town or soemthing one day to see if I can find some super cheap. I hadn't thought of the guests using them, but that pic of Tammy proves they would!

I am having both. My plan is to give all the guys fans and all the girls parasols. Also, I am having groomsmen hand them out so that people can turn them down if they don't want to use it.
