Here's an idea I read about someone who did the postcard guest book:

They gave all their postcards to the MOH and a roll of stamps. Once a month the MOH would mail a postcard to the newlyweds' house. That way, they said it felt more memorable and helped them relive their wedding/vacation.

Just thought I'd share.

I agree with you, twinkletoes. I really like this idea and we would also just have them give the postcards to us while we are at the resort. We aren't having anyone bring us gifts so maybe we would do a card box at the reception and instead of people putting wedding cards into it, they could just drop thier postcard in therehuh.gif I don't know. I like the idea of putting them in the OOT bags too.

That's a really cute idea :) We don't have a bridal party, but that would be a really cool plan!

That's what I was thinking about doing. I may even scan both sides and then have them printed from into a book from lumapix.

You can purchase a 4X6 photo book the type that has plastic sleeves that take a picture on each side of the page and come with a white paper separating the two sides. If you take out that paper you'll be able to see front and back of the cards in their original format.

i'm planning on doing this and want to make some sort of sign for the table so guests understand that this is in lieu of a guestbook...

what should i write? what did you write?

does something like this work?

"Please take the time to write us a postcard!

Weâ€ll enjoy reading your thoughts after our honeymoon."

i'm totally blanking. maybe cause it's way past my bedtime.

We did not end up doing this... about a week before we left I found a "Congratulations!" plate that was in our colors - everyone signed it in lieu of a guest book. I still love the idea of postcards though. What we had planned to do was to put the postcards in the OOT bags, with Jamaican postage, and having our guests give them to the reception desk to mail. Since they would've been pre-addressed and stamped, we figured people would actually do it. We were going to write something in our welcome trifold about it... like I said though, we ended up skipping it.

Wow it is amazing how wonderful his website is.  I saw this in martha stewart destination weddings mag and loved it.  So i searched and here you all are thinking the same thing.  I was thinking of placing the post cards at each seat.  I have found from being in tons of weddings that if it's not right in front of them they will over look it.  So i really tried to put all my thoughts together so they would be cohesive.  Our tables are places we have traveled. I will take a frame and place in it a photo of us at that particular place and share our favorite moment from that trip.  Then it will say something  like please use the postcard and share your favorite moment from this trip with us.  So hopefully this all makes sense.  But need a more elegant way of saying everything......HELP! I will use both of the ideas suggested. On one page I will blow up the postcard frontside and place the written side on top. Then on the next page have it so i have duplicates so one card to show the front and another to show their message.  Wow i love late nite ideas!  Thanks ladies
