Need Spanish Help for Menus

Hi girls! I'm in the process of making a template for our reception menus ... I would like to use the spanish terms for the following:

Appetizers ------- the internet said "appertivo" ---

so would it be Los Appertivos? or just Appertivos?

or just use the singular?

Salad --------- Insalata? There is only one salad being served ...

Main Course ------- The only thing I could find on the internet suggest using

"Mensa Principalis" ---- Is this correct?

Dessert --------- The internet says "postre" --- would this be "Los Postres"

since we're having both wedding and groom's cake?

Here's what I would say....which may be wrong since I'm not fluent, but we have several fluent speakers here who can give you the real scoop )

appetizers = antojitos

salad = ensalada

main course = el plato principal or el plato segundo

postre is dessert....I think it should be plural but I'm not certain

Main course is also referred to as 'plato fuerte' it translates as 'strong plate'.

I would not add 'los' infront of 'postre'. It simply means dessert.

Aha! What a little hog I am....I may not be able to discuss world politics in Spanish but I know how to order my food in Spanish....LOL
