WTF - Forced Donations?

this is a scam...when i was 18 i did this for a week because my best gf and i wanted to work together...we actually did it for firemen charities and i think they only get like 40% of the proceeds

We get calls from the police for donations but I just hang up. It doesn't seem like it's real over the phone. I do get letters from our local PBA and fire department asking for donations maybe once or twice a year so I just send that in. Plus I see the address it's going to so I know it's real. I won't do anything over the phone, there are way too many scams out there.

Seems like you got an OVER-ZEALOUS telemarketer there! WOW! Just throw it away. They may follow up if he marked the paperwork as you "committed", but just tell them you are not wanting to donate and explain the unethical behavior of the original caller.

we were 18 and my girlfriend and i just wanted a job where we could hang out...except the manager was super pushy and had horrible gas and we were in this room with him and a bunch of losers....we didn't last long...i think a week...i am not sure if we ever even got paid since we left after the guy farted and gassed the room.

That is just not right. I work for a non-profit and we never solicit over the phone. It is usually done by mail.

LOL Tammy you are so funny. Jay did telemarketing for a charity a long time ago and he was saying that the charities get a very small cut at times from these telemarketing groups. You can't be forced to donate to charities so yeah I wouldn't worry about it. I've gotten harrassed by people callling merespresenting charities I had donated to in the past insisting I donate more. It really turned me off donating to those organizations.
