Everton always hated him, he made us change the channel if he came on, we liked him and Everton is now saying I told you he was a fake, hmmm I guess he had a sense about him that the kids and I didn't.

Jamy, I agree with you---- racist/degrading comments don't come out of a person unless it's a real thought somewhere inside them. I grew up in a racist community, with parents who were the complete opposite. It's always been something that drives me insane and angers me.

 

I was listening to the radio this morning, and one of the comments made was the argument about 'product of the environment'... ie: common statements in prison/society that make someone more 'immune' to the negativity about the words and don't realize how offensive it is.

 

I gotta say, that 'excuse' drives me crazy. Just because someone lived in that kind of an environment doesn't mean they don't know the difference between right/wrong. I mean, if you grew up isolated with racist parents- ok, I can understand that argument UNTIL you are exposed to outside influence (school/religion/society). But the moment you see/hear/read things in society, you KNOW people find it offensive and regardless of what your personal beliefs are, you know to NOT say them. So if you say it- you pay the price, and well you should!!!

I heard it was $50,000. That family seemed pretty tight. He had to have pissed the son off big time for him to turn his back on the whole family. Obviously that wasn't the first time they have used that language.

 

What I don't understand is that in the message he is saying Americans won't understand how they use the *n* word. They don't mean it in a negative light. Say what!? Seriously, it's not like the usage of "brah."

 

He clearly understands that the word has negative connotation. His excuses and apologies are really weak. Although we watched when we couldn't find anything else on, Dog really bothered me. I hated when he would cuss up a storm and tell the people they are hunting that "We are going to f*ing find him. Tell him the Dogs coming and to be scared." And then once the guy was caught they would go into this Christian talk about having faith and believing in the Lord.

 

Clearly he was selling a front to differentiate his show from other bounty hunters.

I once got a traffic ticket in a town where I didn't know the city laws and the officer told me "ignorance is no excuse". That's how I feel about this kind of stuff. I agree with you Maria. If you grew up isolated you may be brainwashed and suffer the ignorance of your parents, but unless you're chained to the furnace - for goodness sake get out and open your eyes.

$50,000 sounds more accurate, I thought $15k was a little low.

And yep, although I used to watch the show the way they would posse up and talk all that trash then pray as a group before and after was always unsettling to me. Sometimes it is the very outwardly religious and preachy types that are far from Godly while the truly Godly live lives that demonstrate their faith without having to preach it. And all those times he had his African-American minister on the show....wow

They did a funny episode of Southpark where they made fun of them and Beth was all toppling over. Those outfits don't help either!

OMG, I'll have to look that one up, we missed it. Her clothes KILL me! Every thing she wears is out of Fredricks of Hollywood, or her local stripper store. It's just too much.
