Recommended Posts

are you having any kind of theme or will be be an anything goes type hors d's? my mom is throwing our AHR (passed hors d's and champagne) and she's planning on doing DIY hor d's because she's an awesome cook. i'd be happy to share some of her best recipes if you PM me your email address.

but it would be good to post on here if you want a theme or anything so people can come up with creative ideas :)

Yeah, 80 is alot but that is guessing on the high side - I think it will be more like 50ish in reality (including many kids).

Theme - I am getting married in Jamaica so I guess I would like to incorporate some of their foods, and also a beach theme - shells, sand, etc.

This is one of my favorites, and very easy to do for a large group. It reminds me of summer, good for your Jamaican theme. In Italy, they use honeydew melon, in Spain they use cantelope. Either way it tastes great!

-Take a Honeydew melon and cut into cubes

-Wrap thin strips of prosciutto around the cubes of melon

-Secure with a toothpick

-Set out on a tray

-Keep refrigerated until serving

Sam's club has some great apps in large quantities. You can get cheese/sausage platters, veggie trays, ham/turkey rollups, mini quiches, potstickers, mini eggrolls, meatballs, and the list goes on and on....

I have a ton of recipes too if you need some down the road...spin dip, stuffed cherry tomatoes, bbq chicken pinwheels, buffalo chicken dip, firecrackers, etc....

Jerk chicken is fairly easy to do. There are some fantastic bottled brands of seasoning, so you could marinate and then either bake or grill the chicken, cut into bite sized pieces. Serve with a mango chutney or fresh mango salsa and they're delicious!
