TammyM Cabo site visit review

Alamo car rental: C-

OMG that car was a piece of crap. It had a really bad ticking sounds, the muffler was hitting the ground and scraping it and the inside door step pad on the passenger side kept falling off. Seriously I thought the car was going to fall apart or stall out at any given moment.

Sheraton: A+

Gorgeous resort, the staff was so nice and helpful. The concierge actually escorted one of our appointments to the Tomatoes restaurant because we wanted to grab a quick bite to eat and they arrived before our bill came. The rooms were nice, however we did have to switch rooms, we were located in the main building and one of the beds had small ants by the patio door wall I thought at first maybe we carried them in from the beach, so we killed them and left for our next appointment and after we returned we seen several more so after calling for someone to check the room out and no one showing up (called them twice) we packed up our stuff and asked for a new room. The new room was located in a different building and was fine.

* De Cortez: A+

Food was awesome, took a little long for them to bring out our food (and it was a very slow night) the wait staff was very friendly and at night the place is just beautiful.

* Pitahayas: A+

Food again was great, we were served very quickly and the restaurant was almost full.

To get married on the beach at the Sheraton in front of De Cortez we were quoted $300.00 (for our party of around 10) which would include chairs, chair covers, tiki torches and a table for signing of marriage license. To get married in front of Pitahayas restaurant there is no charge since it's not attached to the resort but you have to eat dinner there. Their is a fee to rent chairs, covers and anything else you may need. They also have a Chapel for those of you who may want to get married in one, it was very pretty (attached to the main building to the left of the lobby) No cross, but they said it could be rented if you so choose.

Hilton: A+

The resort was beautiful, and the rooms were very nice. Comparable to the Sheraton and the are priced pretty well for having a ceremony there. Since were looking for a beach wedding we liked the beach better at the Sheraton, but the Hilton was still very nice.

Melia San Lucas: A-

VERY hard to get to, we passed it 3 times before finally finding it. They are building a new resort right next door so when we went is was pretty loud with construction. The resort itself was AMAZING, contemporary design and all new. and the view was equally amazing. This would be a great resort for the 20-30's crowd. I would not recommend having your wedding here but a welcome dinner or just a night out on the weekend would be a lot of fun. This is also a great resort for single people.

Villa Del Palmar: B

This would be a great resort for a family, or 20-30 year olds. The rooms I would give a "C" but they have a full kitchen which could help people save money on eating out all the time. I would not recommend this resort for a wedding.

Cabo Surf: A-

The only reason I gave it a A-, is because it's a small resort and away from everything. This resort would be perfect for a small group where everyone enjoys to surf, as their isn't much more to do there. But that's part of a small resort. Very cozy..

Rosy from Lovely Weddings: huh.gif

Well, I was very disappointed, as she never showed up for our meeting. We were in constant contact before the site visit and I had mentioned to her a few times where we were staying at the time of our meeting. And she never showed. I found out today (she sent me an email while I was in Cabo) that she went to a different resort and couldn't get a hold of me.

Wedding In Paradise: D

As most of you know, I had originally hired them for our wedding, but they have now been released from our contract.

Deena from Sweet Dreams: A+

She is so nice, and a pleasure to talk to. she made an individual wedding cakes for us to taste and we talked about designs and she is really helpful in working with your ideas and giving her feedback on what she thinks will and will not work. The price of an individual wedding cakes are 15-25 per cake. So for a large wedding I wouldn't recommend but for a smaller one I think its a great idea.

Well to be honest with you. I HATED driving in Mexico, the road signs sucks and it took forever to find just about anything. So when I was meeting with Maye C. I asked her about Pedregal and she said she would take me there but she didn't even know exactly how to get there and that it was really confusing and she wasn't sure if we would even be allowed on the beach. So I thought I didn't want my guests to get lost to our ceremony so I'm now going to have our ceremony at the Sheraton on the beach.

:-) Well the good news is that my FMIL is still alive.. lol.. OMG she drove me nuts at times she was stressing out yesterday morning before our flight about hurring up to eat breakfast so that we can leave for the airport, I turned to her and said "Marty we have over 5 hours before our plane is suppose to leave, we have plently of time". Cain and I are suppose to work a pet expo all weekend (he's their now working) and he said I should just go home and relax after work but to be honest with you guys, I need a break from his Ma so after work I'll be up there working (but oh how I would love to lay around and relax at home, but I know that wan't happen with her)

I told Jill, (WIP) basically she sucked being a WC and that I was going to give her a bad review on this forum.

OH on our way back to the airport yesterday we stopped for gas and we noticed a very thin (all his bones were showing) dog. my heart hit the floor. Poor things eyes were glazed over, he could barly walk and his tail was between his legs, his nails were so over grown. So I went into the store at the gas station and purchased his some food, and he just looked up at me and his tail started to wag.. I wanted to take him home so badly because you can tell he's probably only going to live another day or so. It breaks my heart that Cabo is actually a very poor area and that it's not like the US where people will take care of these dogs, people were looking at me like I was crazy buying him food. But what kind of person would I be if I left him there to die. Granted he will probably still pass away if he hasn't already but at least he had one good last meal to eat. Ok,, no I'm going to start crying, he just broke my heart having to leave him there. :-(((((
