I had shoulder length hair when I got married and basically the girl who did my hair did a bunch of curls and then started pinning it up. I have some photos but will need to resize them...I really liked it because it was up loosely but still up and out of my face and off my neck.

...and I can't upload my jpg apparently. Sorry!
Do you have photobucket or snapfish? You can load your pictures there and then copy the IMG link and it will post them here.

I'd love to see your hairstyle :) My hair is still growing, and I'm hoping it will be shoulder length by January... I really hope it will be long enough to put up. Anyone found other short hairstyles?

My sister had really short hair, just to her ears, when she needed to wear it up for a friends wedding. She got an updo and it looked like she had long long hair. They really do not need much hair to do an updo with. So, I think you should be fine, if you want an updo that is.

Thanks for the info... my hairdresser says it shouldn't be a problem (except for maybe the back, which is really short right now). Its so hard to tell what is possible, since most examples are done with long hair. When you search "short hair wedding" you get pictures that look like my hair everyday, but with a tiara sad.gif My hair is straight and pretty fine. I thought about getting a really good blowout with a flip at the bottom, but I'm worried it won't hold in the heat/humidity.

ooh, I like this though, with a headpiece or flower, whatever you are wearing. But if you want an updo, I think you can so almost any of them. I really do. Bring a bunch of pics and let the hairdresser there tell you what you can do. I am sure she will come up with something great that you will love.

I've always heard shoulder length is the best for an updo. My hair is always a length b/w my shoulders & chin, so I flip it out like that when I'm a bridesmaid. But, I want it up for my wedding. Mostly because we'll be outside in the wind. I've started to let it grow out.
