Chandlyn got back to me last night. She said I can have my rehearsal at 6:00 and then go to Seagrapes at 6:30 on the night before my wedding. I want to do this, but I'm wondering how to inform people to eat beforehand. Since the party is around "dinnertime", I don't want them to show up thinking there will be food. What do you suggest? Also, do you know how long the party lasts...6:30 til ?

Thanks! Let me know what she says. I appreciate it!

And if people don't have dining reservations I was going to suggest going to St. Ann's buffet and we can just get large tables pushed together. Maybe I will word it: Please join us for a Private Happy Hour at the beach bar, Seagrape. We would like to officially welcome you there. If you do not have any dinner plans or reservations feel free to join us at St. Ann's following the cocktail party."
How does that sound?
I just don't want people to feel like I am forcing them to eat as a group with everybody. some may want to dine alone and I'm fine with that. I was planning on having the beach bar party for about an hour to an hour and a half so we can go eat at around 7-7:30.
That sounds like a good plan and the wording of the invite is good too...thanks! (Sorry, I feel like I'm totally stealing all of your ideas!)

I am so jealous. I wanted to do a cocktail party, but there was too much going on. I am getting married on a Saturday. If we did a cocktail party people wouldn't have time to eat dinner and then make it to the beach party. Maybe I can have everyone meet up in our room for a little welcome, since that won't be so time sensitive.

I also booked through liberty travel. My guests are also flying down at different times and from different places. My TA blocked 10 rooms for us but its not contracted so I'm not responsible for there deposits either. That makes things much easier.

Do you have to pay for the cocktail party at the SeagrapeBar or just inform Chandlyn that you want to have it?

I reserved a group dinner after the rehearsal at St. Anns restaurant and then off to the Beach Party!
Did you reserve a group dinner with Chandlyn? I didn't know we could do that before we got there. I have a large bridal party (8 on each side), so with them and their spouses/dates and our moms, it would be a really big dinner. I would love to reserve it before I got there if I could.
