I started my shopping at Davids, dresses were great, but materials were so so. Salespeople were pushy and not that helpful on the phone.

So I further my research, went to shops in Montreal. Being a size 00p, most of the dresses looked awful on me, even with clips, a size 10 dress is...weird on me. Finally, I decided to have mine custom made with own vision, twist and ideas. I want my dress to be romantic, modern, and mermaid style. I found a chinese exporter in Suzhou which exports wedding gowns to USA and Europe, and my dress turned out to be amazing.

HELP! So I'm getting married in the Dominican Republic- I found a dress I like but it is out of budget and I'm worried it is too formal for the beach. Also- its ivory and I'm planning on getting married in a white gazebo.... do you guys think the ivory will contrast with the white too much? Do you think this is too formal?? Groom is going to be wearing khakis and a white button down shirt. Really appreciate your input as I am doing all dress shopping on my own. It is easy to get lost without a second pair of eyes.

I love the top of the dress and the belt, looks like it totally fits you! I say go for the dress you love, at first to keep it more casual I said I dont want a train nor a veil, well guess what the dress I bought has a train and I will be getting a veil. The colour is off white/ivory as well and it never even crossed my mind to be worried about a white linen gazeebo. Gof for it!

Beautiful dress, and it is perfect for the beach, not too puffy nor big. It is your day! you can wear whatever you want and feel beautiful.
As for the ivory vs white gazebo, I don't think there will be huge contrast with the bright sunlight. As for the budget, this dress would cost $100-$180 to make if you go with a dress manufacturer, given the margin for bridal shops is usually 70%+.

knacarato, that dress is one of my final pics as well. I do not feel white/ivory will be an issue. I love the train on the dress. I actually already purchased another dress and then tried this one on (they are very similar) because it is lined. My dress I have is not lined. We will see what final decision I make.
