Hey Ashley....We are also flying Artistique Photography out from Portland Oregon we are having our wedding on the 25th of April so I am not going to be able to see your wedding but I hope that it is beautiful and the pictures turn out great.

You are so right about their prices being great and I love that they have shot at the palace before. Their work is really great as well.

Talk to you soon.

We are having our reception at Playa Azul - so right on the beach, woo hoo!

Hi Melanie,
That's great that you have your reception and ceremony site booked already. We have our wedding date set for April 20, just getting the resort booked now. I see that you're paying extra for the ceremony at Coral Beach? Was the gazebo at the Palace an option as well? We'll be staying at the Tropical and Iâ€ve read that the Gazebo is only available to those staying at the Palace.
Also, did you have options for your reception site? I read that it's in the Banquet hall, but Iâ€ve seen pictures of people who had it at one of the beach front grills? Iâ€d love to know what kind of options are available to us, so I know what to ask for.

Hi,
I havent thought a lot about a photographer yet. I checked out the photos from the site, they are beautiful. I would love to have someone come in to take photos, but I dont want to spend too much on them. What kind of quote did you get back from them? If your wedding is on April 15, and mine is April 20, that's a long time for them to be at the resort as well. Do they normally stay for an extended time, or do they just stay for a couple of days for the wedding?

Thanks,lilly

If I have other guests staying at the Beach, Colonial, or Tropical, do they have to pay for a day pass to attend the wedding?

Thanks ladies!
no, for the day of the wedding your guests will just be "upgraded" for the day free of charge :P ( which i think it partially included in your package thats why they are so expensive :P )

Hiiii!!! We are home!! ...and still exhausted! I will do a hopefully review at some point this week after we catch up. All in all, our wedding was absolutely amazing...I honestly couldn't have dreamed of anything better. It was defintately the best night of our lives.

Quick Mini Review: The "3 C's" were absolutely amazing- Claudia (wedding coordinator) made everything happen & went above & beyond to make us happy. If she is your coordinator, your wedding will be FANTASTIC!! We can't say enough about her. Claudia Rodriguez (photographer) was fantastic & so professional to work with & we can't wait to see her pictures! She had such creative ideas and was soooo nice. Cecilia (from Alquimia Events) was the best vendor to work with. She literally found us anything we asked. We used them for our lounge furniture, centerpieces, and table linens. We emailed back & forth several times a day & she was so nice. It was so refreshing.

The only crappy part of our experience was check in- it was literally a nightmare... and the spa. Ladies- get outside people. When I got there, they didnt have my scheduled appointments (which luckily I had brought my original email AND my CONFIRMATION email a few weeks ago). Apparently there is a new guy & this has been happening a lot. Then I had my trial & it literally looked like I got out of the pool bc they sprayed it so much. They use the Mexican equivalant of AquaNet. It was better on the wedding day bc I brought my own spray...but it was amateur. Some of the girls seemed like they were good, but that's a bit risky. I will do more in the review forum when I have time!

Our price is reeeeally reasonable considering that there are two photographers shooting the entire wedding day, and they are really great photogs. They are there for a wedding the week after yours so im sure if you asked them you could get a great quote! So exciting, congratulations!!

Hi Lilly!

We had to pay extra to have our cermony at Coral Beach because it is part of the Barcelo Palace and we are staying at the Colonial. The same would apply for the gazebo. So it is an option for you but you would have to pay the extra $15 per person to have it there. There are also other beach locations you can choose from that are not at the Palace and would be included in your package.

There are alot of options for the reception site, it just depends what package you book. If you book one of the first 3 packages (below the Strawberry Passion package) your reception will be in a banquet hall or an a la carte restaraunt. If you book the Strawberry Passion package or above - you can have a 3 hour reception on the beach, poolside, or in an open air grill by the beach. Keep in mind any Palace locations would be an extra $15 per person again if you are not staying at the Palace (although they do not do receptions at the Palace open air grill anyway, I think it's called Coral Grill)

Hope that helps!

Melanie
