Hi Laura welcome,

1. The resort photographers are not my personal taste but here is a link to their work ::: Funever Photos ::: You do not have to use them but if you bring an outside photographer than you have to pay the outside vendor fee which is $350 if you booked after December

2. You can have any outside vendors that you would like but you have to pay the outside vendor fee for each one. They offer the mariachi band for the cocktail hour for $700 through the resort.

3. When I went on our site visit we really like Maria Maria's however after seeing Duprke's pictures Pelicano's looks like an awesome spot for a reception.
I agree with this.. It all depends on what type of setting/food you are looking for. If you are looking for an outdoor event with lots of seafood options on the menu, I would do pelicanos. They have other food other than seafood, but the seafood is AMAZING. If you are looking for dim light sit down with BIG steaks then Maria Maries is your choice. They are BOTH great choices, though. These would be my top two picks.

For those who are having difficulty with the amount of guests you have.. I would seriously consider doing an a la carte wedding. This is what we did and it saved us a ton even with our small guest list of 25. This is just my opinion, though. My next suggestion is that if you have a small guest list like we did get a SMALL cake. We had a TON left after the reception b/c people were too full from the dinner and cheesecake. It was pretty, though. I am currently loading pictures to my shutterfly account and will post the link. Don't mind some of the pics in the professional folder, some are not edited yet. I will also load some of the resort so you can get a better idea of what it looks like.

I totally agree! My FI is bit of a math/finance guru and created a spreadsheet of what the cost would be for us when were were thinking about what packages to get. We ended up realizing that the Classic package was much cheaper than the Luxury that we were planning on, even with mostly everything added back in a la carte. We're planning on about 40 and he calculated out that even if we get up to 50ish it would still save us a good bit of money. This is especially the case if you are going to have a good proportion of Real-resort guests. The only thing we ended up cutting were things like the couples massage and flowers for the room...minor non-wedding things that weren't that important to us since we are honeymooning elsewhere.

Sarah,

My FI thought I am the only crazy person who would built an Excel spreadsheet model for number of guests and packages...with an optimizer and different scenarios simulations to stress test our budget! Now I can tell him, I am not alone!
Totally agree with you, compared with the luxury package, it costs $500-$1000 less with the classic/romance packages + add ons.

I have spreadsheets for everything about this wedding too!! From the STD and invitations to the cost per guest! Its an ongoing joke with my FI that we have to "go over the numbers" LOL We decided to go with the classic wedding bc the pricing worked out best for us.

Super19 - Your pics look beautiful!! Did the Royal provide the lounge furniture on the beach? Also, did the Royal provide your flowers? The colors look great!! Finally, what was the weather like at night? Sorry for all of the questions, but I love your reception setup. Its very similar to the picture that I have in my head.
