I know this story is somewhere else but it is so crazy I have to post again!

We have a friend W. She has a bit of a problem with self control when she is drinking. Last summer another friend S had a beautiful outdoor wedding. Her entire conservative family flew in from Hong Kong. Not all of them spoke english.

Well, W proceeds to get beyond drunk. At one point she grabs S's dad and drags him out onto the dance floor and starts freak dancing up on him!

Later she had to pee, so she just hiked up her dress, scooted to the edge of her chair and went, right there under the dinner table!
all I have to say is..o-m-g!!

My cousin's wedding was the strangest one I'd ever been too. She had a very nice ceremony in a church followed by a lovely dinner at a reception hall...sounds nice hey? Well, dinner was at 3 PM, no booze was served, the speaches were very quick and full of inside jokes that no one understood, the bride & groom had their first dance right beside their head table and when that was over, the MC announced that we had to be out of the hall by 5 so the staff could set up for the next reception!! No cake, no dance, not even an after party...the guests were just standing around wondering what to do with the rest of their night!

I haven't been to that many weddings, but one of my first weddings was for my grandfather. It was awful. His very vain and old wrinkly bride bought a full blown ball gown which looked ridiculous. After the ceremony and a few hours to kill, we went to the "legion" that they were holding it at. It was a cash bar at a little window to a snack bar with those tiny plastic cups and maybe 2 options of drinks. I asked for a vodka and orange juice and they told me to buy an orange juice out of the vending machine, pay for the alcohol and they'd mix it for me. And for dinner we had a slice of roast beef with canned gravy, and gross canned vegetables. I was starving lol.

They even did a garter toss!!! Talk about gross!! We had to force the single guys (which were mostly grandkids) onto the floor and when my grandfather threw the garter they all ran screaming lol!!! It sat in the middle of the floor until one brave grandson went and picked it up with an annoyed look on his face lol.

I should go dig up a pic.......

I would be embarassed for her and probably would have turned 20 shades of red myself. I mean what do you say after that? Awkward. embarrest.gif

Unreal.....I just don't know how you rationalize stuff like that?? I don't even want any of that (the poofy ball gown and the garter toss) at my wedding because I think it would feel silly....like I was trying too hard, KWIM? I get that every bride should have the wedding of her dreams but you need to draw the line somewhere...seriously.
