Hi!! No question is stupid (or makes you look stupid) around here.
Try saving the file to your pc and then opening it with word. If that doesn't work try copy the document and paste in word. If that doesn't work just print the form, fill it out and scan it to your pc.
Let me know if you still have problems.

Congrats on your engagment and setting a date!!!!!!!!! that is so soon...it'll fly by!! pinkie.gif

Thanks so much everyone! I was stressing about 2pm, but it is what it is! And if we can get a little later great, if not, I am glad you girls reassured me its not too early!

sap... I will have to look into Pastor York. But we are really tight on money so I will have to look into his prices! Thanks for the suggestion though... and I am glad my dad can still walk me down the isle since its a ROV ceremony.

PuntaCanaNikki... I ended up printing out the agreement form and then scanning it so I could type my information in and save it that way. Hopefully that will work for you if you can't find a way to do it in Adobe. Congrats!

Well I emailed Carolina and got good news and bad news!

The good is that it only took her a day to email me back....I was shocked. The bad is that she said for 2011 in order to have the private beach party you have to have a minimum of 20 guests. I am really worried I won't have 20 guests! What do I do if I can't have the beach party I wanted? confused.gif

Sigh. I suppose no matter what I do, it will work out. At least that's what I am telling myself!

In other news, my engagement pictures got rescheduled and good thing too because I got nailed in the face at a softball tournament the day before we were going to have the pictures!! You can see the imprint of the stitches of the ball on my chin. Very attractive! msnwink.gif

I'm looking for some thoughts/advice on timing of our ceremony and what/when to do things.

We are doing a legal ceremony. The judge was only available at 1:00, so that's the time we've been given ("unless something changes"). Which just seems really early to me, but I'm hoping you girls can help me figure out how to work it out.

I did ask Carolina if we could move the time, and she said we could do the legal part with the judge at 1:00 and then the ceremony with Pastor Rick later. However, the fiance was not really a fan of this idea. He really wants to do both things at once. So that option is out, and it looks like 1:00 it is.

So.....

  • If we get married at 1:00, how long does the ceremony take?
  • We'd do pictures after the ceremony, but do you do cake/first dance then, too? (Is there a champagne toast thing, too??) We're doing the beach party later, but the photographer will be long gone by then.
  • Cake after wedding or at dinner?
  • Even if we do pictures, cake, champagne, etc. right after ceremony, it will still only be 3:00, maybe 4:00, when all of that is done. What would we have our guests, and ourselves really, do for that gap between all of that and dinner/beach party?

I'm really struggling with what to do and how to handle the timing of all of that. Any help or thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Sorry to hear there is a minimum on the beach party but maybe you can ask if you can pay for the 20 people even if you have less. Maybe its a money issue, like they need a certain price to allow it. So if you paid for the 20 people and only have 15, it would still be ok. Hopefully it will all work out for you!

Our Ceremony was at 430pm and our private reception was at 7pm. We still had time in between pics to have drinks at the lobby bar, which people had no problem with. Not sure what time your dinner is scheduled for but it may be a good idea to have people meet for drinks and snacks before dinner.

How about planning a cocktail hour at Hemmingways? Just have everyone head over there and party it up until dinner time!

I'm going to say your ceremony will be 15 minutes. We did our first dance right after our ceremony, still at the gazebo and we had the photographer do our cake cutting pictures at the gazebo as well, because we didn't have him stay for dinner. We then had group pics (at the gazebo) then our wedding party pics at the beach (as well as just the two of us). While we were having pics done our guests were having drinks at the Punta Cana lobby bar. They took our cake out to the lobby but my fam was to busy drinking to eat cake so we brought it to the restaurant and my mom cut and served it after dinner.

Don't worry about your guests and the gap in between, everybody is on vacation so they will just do their own thing and whatever time you want them to be back somewhere they will be after all their there because of our wedding.

If you want some fun pictures you could go to the sports center and get some pictures of your group using the equipment and stuff, would make for good stories. Just try not to hurt yourselves. lol

There is soooo much to do at this resort, its huge, don't worry :)
