I know it can be really frustrating I just keep telling my self they are working hard with all the brides who are there now and to remember I would want the same level of attention on my day.

Is there any where on there where you yourself can add stuff? If so I would go ahead and start adding :) That way when your WC gets to it she can confirm everything that you have.

JESMCAN, I'd send you the link that I received but it seems that each link is tailored for your own individual profile.
Hi Chicago Bride. I am getting married in April 2011 and I am strongly considering Cecilia Dumas as well. Please let me know what you find out. She did someone else's wedding on here as well but I wasn't able to get to the pictures. It's maybe 5 or 6 pages back. Who was your first choice if you don't mind me asking?

Thanks Jesmcan, I went from being super excited from being not so much.

The problem is that besides my mother and my sister, no one is well traveled in my group. Aside from traveling back to our country (the Dominican Republic), no one has really been outside the states. They have no idea what prices are.

Per example, I got some rates for the Gran Porto... $246 per nigh, double occupancy. I told this to some and they think it is too expensive. I tell them to think that they can pay $100 per night at a decent hotel, but they have to add food and drinks (which most are heavy drinker) and that those drinks can add up at $10 a piece.

I will plan the wedding an try not to worry about it. I called my wedding planner at the Royal and she said that they are completely open to chance things if things come up once i get there. This gave me a piece of mind.

Also, I saw that someone asked about the lighting, with no respond to that (either that or I missed it) What are the options?

Thanks,

Luz

I wasn't able to view them either, if you Google her you can find some pics on Vimeo and her website. Also, if you look at the wedding review forum then you can find some. My first choice was Sascha Gluck.

I think we have all gone through this feeling so don't worry its totally normal.

Do you have any idea about how many guests you are going to have coming?

Once you have an idea I would sit down and price out the a la cart versus the package. I think many brides struggled with the fact that there were many things in the package they were not going to use. And they do not let you substitute for anything else. So it seems that in many cases the a la carte was the best way to go.

Be sure to take into consideration that non-resort guests pay more
Non-Resort Guest Fees:
$10 For The Ceremony
$20 Cocktail Hour
$60 For The Reception

In addition also consider that if you have guests staying off the resort they have to leave the resort if you have time in between your events. So if your ceremony is at 2pm than cocktail at 5pm followed by reception your non-resort guests would have to leave until 5pm.

Also are you working with a travel agent? I highly recommend that you do. They can help you find the best rates and show you the options of individual versus group. They also have no bumping policies which is common in the Royal for guests who book through on line sites like Expedia and so on.

I have done my engagement shoot with Cecilia Dumas on the Royal PDC beach last week, and she is AMAZING! We did the shooting on Wednesday and got the pics on Saturday! SWEET, Very easy to work with and very efficient!

I only posted the 4x6 edited ones on photobucket, and I have the 6x8 ones and tons of unedited beautiful pics that I will make a flush-mounted album with them!

You absolutely can add things on your own. That was the first thing I did after I got my email about it just to make sure that all the information that I had been exchanging via email didn't get lost in the transition! You would need to have a login to the site though before you could do anything so I guess you'd still need to have had some exchange with your WC.

Hi ladies! I've been so busy these last 2 weeks with other non-wedding stuff so I've had to use the last 2 days to get caught up on all the posts. Great news to update though! I just got off the phone with the wedding coordinator at The Royal. I previously had Angie... So yes I was so excited to hear from the coordinator who is handling our wedding! We'd been playing phone tag for a few days but she emailed and said she would be working until 7pm tonight so I asked if she could call me tonight before she got off work, well she called and it was after 7pm so I thought that was awesome of her. Here's a few things we went over on our call.

I asked about the 3 people allowed at The Royal 3 hours before the ceremony and she said YES that is ok she'll just need to know the names of those 3 people before hand in an email.

She confirmed that you can have 2 different main courses but she'll need to know how many of each entree 45 days before the wedding. I knew that from this forum but glad she re-confirmed it.

The eternal romance package includes a mani and pedi for the bride and hair for the bride. She said I need to email her with the day/time of those services and she'll make reservations for me. Also if you want to have the bridesmaids get services at the spa you can have her make those reservations as well. The hair style price for them will be $70.

My package, eternal romance, includes breakfast the day after the wedding and she said she'd email me a menu and we can pick what we want so they automatically bring it to your room. It also includes a dinner on the beach for the couple and a 25 min. couples massage and she said to just email her with the date/time and she'll set those things up for us as well.

I'm having a symbolic ceremony and a friend of the groom is performing the ceremony, she said she needs the name of the person who'll be doing the ceremony.

I asked about the ceremony music and as read on this forum, yes they have someone that will control the Ipod music for the ceremony.

Oh and her name is ELSA so if any of you have her as your coordinator then rest assured you'll feel a million times calmer after talking to her, she is so sweet and really wants to get things the way you want them.

Sorry I didn't ask about any other things but I was just trying to get as many questions in as I could. She was very helpful. If any of you have been assigned her and haven't heard back, don't worry. My wedding is Oct. 9th and I just heard from her so she may be going in date order.

I would like to do a "Welcome to Mexico" informal cocktail hour the first night that all of my guests are there. Do any of you have suggestions of what bars/areas at the resorts would be good for this? I'm trying to keep this night cheap, so I don't want to go off of the resort.
