Our guests were very happy with our selection. The food was fantastic, and you don't always get that with an AI. Keep in mind, however, that with an AI, your guests usually pay for their reception meal in their room rate. At a resort that is not all inclusive, you will host the dinner.
Thank you for this information!

Hello and welcome to this great forum! Sounds like you have your choices narrowed down, which is ALWAYS helpful!!! We are staying at the Grand Palladium Kantenah, and I have heard great things about the Grand Palladium resort(s). MY MOH attended a wedding for another friend there a few years back so I'm excited for that!

Happy Planning! You will find great information here! Congratulations!!

Congrads, I got proposed to 8 days after you wink.gif I've been searching like mad and I have the same concerns as you. We're right now thinking Riviera Maya (we enjoy mexico) but didn't want it in the cancun area, where it is a bit more crowded. Mexico seemed more carefree and affordable than Europe were we originally were considering, even then still might be an option. For now..it's a favorable choice to go with the Now Sapphire. I really enjoy it how its on the private beach then reception following on the deck. Plus most of my family is traveling from Portugal and the language barrier won't be too crazy. Italy is still in the back of my mind, so who knows?! :) Gluck!

My recommendation is to make up a list of must haves. You should have 4-5 things you really want - like close to a major airport, cost, allows kids, has a chapel or private wedding setting, has an adult only sections, is AI, etc . Then find 2 good travel agents and have them give you recommendations on places to stay and price out 3, 4, and 7 nights at the hotels. I found the resort first, and while I LOVED the Azul Beach, I wish I would have kept my eyes open to other places, especially if they would have been cheaper for my guests - or had gotten me better deals on my wedding package.

Good luck!

Great suggestion! I have a few in mind we have to check out. But my must have's are affordability, amenities, all-inclusive, allows kids and preferably private ceremony/beach wedding.

I LOVE AMResorts (Dreams, Sunscape, NOW, Secrets, and Zoetry are all a part of this chain).

We've been to Dreams Tulum in the Riviera Maya. Unfortunately it was a bit too much for our guests, plus the per plate fees for food can really add up.

We've also been to Sunscape Casa Del Mar (which is now Dreams La Romana) in the DR. Way more affordable when it was a Sunscape, but AMResorts has done away with this brand (it was their cheapest line) and upgraded their resorts.

And we went to Secrets Wild Orchid in Montego Bay, Jamaica recently.... AMAZING! And it just opened so it will only get better!

If you can swing Dreams, I'd say go for it, because I love the chain so much. However, we're doing Gran Bahia Principe in the Riviera Maya, because it would be more affordable for our guests and for us.
