I have to say individual booking worked out great. We let everyone know that rates change all the time but they just keep going up and that our TA would match any other on line sites if they pay in full. This got everyone booking very quickly and handling their own plans , less stress for me lol
I agree with this completely. We did individual booking as well. The group rate put too much pressure on us and I don't like talking money either!!!

Alright girls, so I've decided to have two entrees for the reception dinner. I have 39 guests and I'm trying to avoid doing a seating chart. My idea is to have cards at each table (one pink, one blue) to distinguish which entree they want. Chicken can be pink and beef blue. Of course I would give the Royal a count ahead of time, but then the servers will know who gets what and I do not have to force everyone into a seating chart. What do you think of this, would it work? Or is it not a good idea? Also, how many per table? I thought 6 but since I'm WC-less right now I couldn't verify.

runningbride, I like the idea of no seating chart but how will you know you put the right amount of meals on the table, like will ppl swap with each other the cards? Or will you just give ppl the card before they sit down? Sorry I'm a visual type of person so I'm trying to see what it wold be like. I'm having the same issue bc I know not eveyone in my group eats meat.

Runningbride I know every says the seating charts are the worst part of any wedding planning. They always cause issues lol but I also see what Jenny is saying. How will you be able to tell that table 4 for example has 4 beef and 3 chicken? I believe they need to know ahead of time who at what table is getting what.

Also when we went on our site visit for seating a table of 6 is perfect! Zulma said no more than 8 and we saw a table of 8 and it looked pretty tight. You can just let your WC know how many at a table you want.

I would suggest you to get married before going to Mexico to avoid any headaches. Apparently a bride from Dallas is experiencing the same issue as me. It seems that every county in Texas is different when it comes to foreign marriages. IT SUCKS BALLS!!!
Yep, big fat donkey balls lol

Do get the marriage certificate translated before you leave the Royal!! We didn't do that. Do your research and see if the SS, DMW and your company will accept translated marriage certificate if you want to change your last name.

We are just going to get our marriage certificate translated then leave it alone. We are married. Nobody can tell us that we are not.
I told FI what you said and we are gonna get it legally done here in the next couple of months. It's complicated enough already with him being Canadian, so we're just gonna do it that way and change to symbolic.

I posted in the other thread, but like I said there, your wedding in Mexico WAS your real wedding and don't let this stupid rule take anything away from that.

Some wedding sites like the knot, wedding channel and wedding wire have guest seating charts that are VERY easy and useful. I already used it to track my invitations, guest list, and meals, so adding them to a seating chart was quite easy.

I know there is a thread for this elsewhere, but I want to ask YOU ladies lol. Are any of you getting a brazilian wax or the likes for your wedding? I know it's advisable to start well in advance, but I'm scared lol. I've had laser hair removal and that hurts, so I definitely don't want to do it in THAT area...hmm, i wonder which is worse...

Ahhh thanks girls! You are right that might complicate things. With only 39 guests it shouldn't be bad. Are all of you doing a long table for the bride and groom and wedding party, or is that possible? Jess I'll take your advice and go with 6.

On another note, I just got emailed my new WC!!!!! Finally!!

Lisa, I started doing the brazilian a while ago and I started getting ingrown hairs with all the waxing. So then I switched to the laser hair removal and I LOVE IT! I agree it is a little painful but I think the waxing hurts more. Another great thing with the laser is that you can shave in between sessions if you have some hair that grows back. I think it really depends on where you are in your cycle, that’s how sensitive you'll be to pain. Just take 2 tylenols before! I was embarrassed at first but then you remember that this is what they do for a living and mine isn't the first one they saw LOL

Yep, doing the Brazilian. I'm getting it done in about 3 weeks (supposed to let the forrest grow) to see how I react and then again the day before we leave, since we leave on a Wednesday and get married on a Sunday. Everyone I know has told me to do a test run before the wedding in case I break out or anything like that happens....
