Thank you! I am thinking Sand Dunes Club on Sullivan's Island. If not, then might do a destination wedding. Charleston is way too expensive to get married now that everyone comes here to wed. :)

Yes, we should get together. I know you are getting excited, even though it's crunch time. I have a friend getting married at the Cotton Dock at Boone Hall the day after Thanksgiving - she booked it three months ago. :)

Hey girl! If you need any help, let me know. I am sure you have plenty of friends helping you but I also don't mind. I know sometimes it's hard to tell someone to do it versus them just jumping in and helping. Let me know. :)

So you have any suggestions for hotels in that area? are you familiar with Sullivan's Island?
Hey Mandy! I had a girlfriend get married on Sullivan's Island/IOP this May, and asked her what her suggestions were, this is what I got back from her:

I would definitely recommend the condo rentals where mine and Bob's family stayed. Ocean Inn, is individually owned condos that has a property management company who rents for them. Each condo is different, the building is older, but the condos are very cute, clean and affordable. The location is very good, but not ocean front. It is a block away from the main rd, you can see the ocean and easily walk to everything.

Bob and I stayed at the SeaSide Inn, the room was nice, but honestly I think I would have preferred Ocean Inn, especially for the price and they are much larger than a hotel room.

They have a website, but it really doesn't do it justice. I called ahead and asked if they would be able to show me some of the rooms, which they did.

Hey Alysson! I don't know much about the last two - Magnolia Plantation is absolutely beautiful... if you want something in actual downtown Charleston, I would look at Wyckliffe House The Wickliffe House There has been some amazing looking weddings there... Sorry I can't help much on the other locations!

Hey- I considered getting married in Charleston for a while. It's a beautiful and fun city with lots of charm and character. My FI and I visited Magnolia Plantation last summer and it was gorgeous. There are so many areas for great pics. I would not recommend the porch for the wedding since it was crooked (I'm a huge klutz and knew I would have problems in heels). Funny enough, a friend of my FI's is getting married at the Legare-Waring House in Sept. 2011.

Hi!

It's great to see Charleston, SC locals posting here. I would like to share information about my catering company here at Charleston maybe you can recommend us to your friends.

Holy City Catering remains a family owned and operated, full service catering company.  Hailey and Rhett Tanner, culinary graduates of Johnson & Wales, met in 2001 while working at Blossom Cafe in downtown Charleston, SC.  They parted ways briefly to study various types of cuisine after working at Blossom and eventually started Charlestonâ€s first ‘sushi bar on wheelsâ€, Sushi by Rhett, in 2009.  In 2012, the Two Cook Duo quickly decided it was best to start their first restaurant and full service catering company, Savory Sushi and Catering.  After closing down Savory in 2011, Rhett and Hailey decided to specialize in lowcountry cuisine and sushi and use the name of Holy City Catering to label their culinary works.

As a full service catering company, Holy City Catering will handle all food, rentals and even bar services if needed.  For people interested in rolling their own sushi, Holy City Catering will schedule a Sushi 101 class at your location.  They offer private chef services for Charleston locals and vacationers to give people the chance to experience a single memorable dinner or the a whole week of delicious cuisine.

Hope we can be at service to your friends.
