If I left it with the resort, they'd charge you $300 to use it, even though I was the one who bought it cheesy.gif
That would be hysterical. Some brides have catamaran tours, my wedding party gets a scavenger hunt on the beach for large drapes of fabric. Hahahahaha. AWESOME! Seriously tho, I bet they would charge a $300 holding fee to store it if you left it with them. Too bad, or all the brides on here could just pass the fabric from one to the next.

You have no idea how happy this picture makes me. I want to print in out and put it on the fridge so that when i get stressed I can look at it and say. Someday I will get a picture with the donkey. I know it is silly to be so excited about a donkey but for some reason he takes me to a happy wedding place when i am stressed. :)

Celina, would love to know how this works out for you, with cost; fitting in suitcase etc. as I'll probably consider the same.

Thanks so much amyb. Slowly but surely, I'll figure out this forum. smile35.gif

Good news - JUST found out we officially have our ceremony and reception. I sent in our deposit and we are officially getting married at AS!!!!smile72.gif

I was thinking about it but I am undecided. What did everyone else do?

I'm glad to hear this! I was avoiding getting a signature drink because of the cost, but I will wait till I get there and ask for it then.

I had a sweetheart table with all the tables staggered in front of me and the dance floor off to the side, worked well! No one was sitting at the tables after dinner really and everyone could still see the dance floor from the tables if they were.
What is a sweetheart table? And where did you have your reception?

Same here...I wasn't going to get any champagne cuz of cost, so I am super happy to hear this!

I wore a veil...Everything was custom made for me and I started the process 8 months in advance. I'd say 4 months would be safe for a veil...depends on where it is coming from.

Get the house wine & house champagne. I swear I love expensive wine and so does my Dad and his GF - and we all LOVED the resort's white and really liked the red. I wasted $$ by ordering "special" wine and no one even knew any better.

I borrowed a veil from my best friend and was going to wear it in pictures. I love those flying veils in the wind on the beach. I left it in the hotel room and never got the pictures I love. Oh well!
If you go to a good seamstress, maybe they can make the veil for you while you get the dress fitted? I would definitely FIND a seamstress now; I dont think you need to be fitted yet, but definitely start looking for one and plan to decide 3 + months out. I cut it close and was cool about not having my dress until the week we left but other people started to make me nervous when they heard I did not have my dress back yet !!

Oh I am so glad Maggie! No matter what people say and how annoyed you may get, you always have Filemon :)

My schedule was:
430 - wedding
5-7 - cocktails
7-11 - reception

I would push the wedding up 1/2 hour to 4pm and do pictures with the groups from 430-5 then pics w/ FI from 5-530/545.
I agree with you too Amy! 4pm would have been a better choice than 5pm. I had an hour and a half cocktail hour which was surprisingly not long enough. I didn't do pictures before the ceremony due to traditional DH who didn't even spend the night with me before the wedding.

so excited!

We put down the 10 deposits this week to hold a group rate with our TA and then people only have about a month to join the group at the held rate. I better get on STDs real fast. We're planning to do email STDs and then traditional invitations (for the time factor mainly).
Ahhh so exciting!!! Congrats, you're official!

YAY!! I actually had my WC in Miami do this for me, to be honest it was her idea! You can always ask and if they say no, have the onsite coordinators take care of it.

No you're not behind at all. I bought my dress in August 2009, it came in late February, had my final dress fitting 3 weeks before my wedding.

I wore a tulle cage veil and I loved it so much I wore it all night long. I am going to post some pictures here for any of you who are interested.

Oh good! Yes, just don't forget to ask for whatever you want, it doesn't hurt!

A sweetheart table is a table just for you and your husband. It was better that way for us just with the number of people we had and so everyone could see us. I'll put up a picture.

Here is our sweetheart table... I know it's blurry but it's the only one I have that's a non-pro pic. I don't have the images on a disk yet

Here's my veil which is a tulle cage veil. I had it made and my hair dresser pinned it to my head perfectly: (Excuse these pictures and my face, they just showed my veil)
