I would say 95%+ of them (LaSposa, Pronovias, San Patrick, Maggie Sottero...even Vera Wang) are from China, so I start to look where those manufacturers are located. Almost all of them are located in the Suzhou/Hanzhou area, where they produce silk as well. God created the world, and everything else is made in China.
Your dress looks lovely and love the fact you are customizing it to exactly what you want.

My dress should have been delivered last week but the designer here in the UK had to fly to China and Taiwan to source material for her autumn / winter designs as the original supplier had gone into adminstration due to the credit crunch! Luckily my dress is not affected as it has already been made. I now collect it on the 25th - woo hoo :-)

Agree with you - 90% of the dresses are made in China - the lady who has designed my dress and runs her own company is Chinese and gets her designs made in China; then shipped here to the UK. She said she uses the same suppliers as many of the designer gowns available here in the UK and they charge a fortune for them - Maggie Sottero being one of them!

So I met with my three "mom's" today and we picked out the bridal shower venue! Remember the whole open bar dilemma I posted a few weeks back?? Well, we decided to do sangria and Corona's as our signature drinks :) I am very happy with that. Anyone that knows me knows of my love of sangria!!

The venue is beautiful and the menu looks just wonderful! Butler passed hors d'oeuvres: Assortment of bruschetta (olive, tomato and roasted pepper with feta) Soup: Cream of mushroom with pasta. Main course: Stuffed chicken breast - stuffed with spinach, garlic, & roasted pepper; Garlic whipped potatoes; and roasted vegetables. Dessert: Fresh strawberry cheesecake with chocolate sauce.

Making me hungry just thinking about it :)

We went with white table linens with criss-crossed table runners in hot pink and coral satin (our colors) and alternating coral and hot pink chair sashes.
Sounds wonderful :-) Making me hungry too !! HAhaha x Loving the Corona idea... Mmmmmm x Love the lay out too... Oooo its going to be fantastic x cheer2.gif x

I have to say a bridal shower seems a little more organised and extravagant than the 'hen parties' we do here in the UK.

Thank you! From what I gather hen parties are the equivalent of our bachelorette parties. In the US bachelorette parties are typically a more casual party held at someone's home followed by a night out, dancing, etc. Typically only close friends and family members are invited. Usually, the bridal shower tends to me a more formal event held at a restaurant and all women invited to the wedding attend the bridal shower.

I am getting so excited now that we are finally making some firm decisions . . . I can't wait for my site visit in July (going for 4 days with my mom) so I can start making some preparations for our actual wedding, most importantly, the reception venue!

Just above the sticky's on the left there should be a "new thread" button to click on. Just slightly right of the advertisements on the side of the page....

Hope this helps?
