Married or going to be married at Grand Palladium Punta Cana?

Recommended Posts

LOL, Yup bought a new BBQ, nothing fancy or special. Just one that wouldn't burn black smoke all over the food (the old one was a year old, but the heating plate got rusted)

Enjoyed it today!! Def wasn't as hot as this week so it was enjoyable.. other then that pretty boring weekend if I might say and it just begun lol

1. Does the ROV ceremony prices increase drastically from year to year? I want to book NOW but if the price doubles I will have a heart attack lol.

When I requested the wedding packages, I got the 2009 and it was the same price for the 2010 which we paid for.

2. How do you reserve your date and time? Since its a ROV can we just have it any time we want? I don't know if a judge does the ROV or if the WC does. Anyone know? I am thinking 5-6pm is best but I really don't know how it works.

There is no need of a judge or priest (unles u want one, but more cost) so you can pick anytime or date you'd like. As long as Carolina (or her assistant) isn't busy at that time, you just need to pick a date and time, confirmed with them and it's all yours. 5pm you have more sun light time for pictures after the ceremony. 6pm we were rushed and didn't the get the group shots on the beach because we lost light to quickly. So knowing this may help you pick a time more easier!

3. And from experience, would it be better to get married on a Thursday or Friday?

No difference, as long as it's not on a Sunday...they don't preform on this day.Whatever date you like better :)

4. Is a deposit required?

None needed!

5. Are outside photographers permitted?

Yes, and the day pass from 9am-6pm is $60US

Sorry for all of the questions. Seeing that the WC is out I can only imagine how busy the assistant is, so I'd rather see if I can get answers here before e-mailing her. Thanks in advance!

It's my (our pleasure) to help out, ask away!!! It can be difficult to sometimes to get reply's back from the WC cause they are so busy!!

AND BTW

welcome4.gif congrats on the engagement!!!!!!! pinkie.gif

Thanks for posting the pics Tracy! Hope you are feeling well.

I keep going back and forth on the beach vs private restaurant reception. We have about 60 people coming now. The private restaurant costs $1000. This allows us the restaurant from 6pm-midnight. I wasn't thinking about the beach BBQ until you posted how great it was. The pictures look great, but I see you dancing in the sand. We are a bunch of dancers...salsa dancers. Which is how my FI and I met...in dance class! :) So now I don't know if the beach would really work. hmmmm.

I would definitely suggest checking out Pastor York for the renewal of vows. We have hired him and he sent us a sample ceremony to work from and it is great! Send him an email if you are interested, he responds quickly and is very kind. Also...if you are not using a judge, my understanding is that the judge only works until 5. So if you want after 5pm then that is usually the easiest time for them to accomodate whatever you want. I originally asked for 2:30 but Carolina said no can do because a judge is doing a ceremony for another couple at that time. So Pastor York said he could come at 6 and Carolina said no problem. 6 it is!

I got married at 6pm by the judge! so he does work until he finish's all the weddings of the day, regardless of the I time I think.

The beach party isn't a BBQ, it's just a dance. You have your reception dinner. Then afterwards you and your guest go to the beach to dance and drink (open bar right there)

If your on a budged, it'll be cheaper to do the beach party then the private reception.

Oh goodness...well I hope that doesn't interfere with my plans with Pastor York! lol. Guess will just have to keep fingers crossed. No use stressing over things not in our control. :)

Can anyone tell me what the "tax" is when you enter DR at the airport. I remember paying it last year, $10 per person or per family. I want to give everyone a heads up in our planning brochure.

Thanks!

Glad you had a great wedding!! We also considered this resort... but I personally wasn't getting reply's back. So I chose this resort... best decision I've ever made besides marrying my husband!!!

Most airline companies include the tourist card which is 10$US per person. Check with the airline company. I think it's ONLY sunwing who doesn't include it. We had 4 guest fly with them, they were the only ones who had to pay for the card and airport tax, which is $20US p/p.

But they didn't have any sort of dance floor? That's what we really want to make sure that we have. It's definitely less expensive to go with the beach party...not sure. :/
