Hi Ladies,im from Kent,Lenham actually 10 miles from Maidstone and 10 miles to Ashford.

Im getting married In Zante in Greece on the 3rd September, just had to change the date from the 4th !!!! Never mind

I think we have 16 weeks to go.

We are flying to Greece in three weeks and will check out our wedding venue PELIGONI

check it out if you get a chance.I think it may be a little posh but i fell in love with the club our accomodation is called ASKALIA.

I dont know what i would of done without this forum and i have even managed to make purchases from fellow members.

Diy wise ive made luggage tags using vista print buisness cards, wedding programs.I ordered a wedding banner got pens and magnets as save the dates. All for just postage and packing.I love the luggage labels i had written im off to greece for Paul and marias Peligoni wedding please take care of my luggage.

I ordered a starfish and added turquoise and hot pink ribbon to tie our wedding rings too

UMMM what else raffia fans from a fellow member again tied with hot pink ribbon and i added a starfish charm.

I bought Chloe's bridesmaids dress from a lady on etsy jujus tutus just waiting for the postman to deliver it.Its white wedding tulle, empire tutu dress with hot pink ribbon and turquoise.I would check her out if your looking for a dress for a little princess.I wasgoing to buy a dress from Monsoon cos i love there dresses but as Chloe lives with her mum i knew id never see the dress again it most likely be screwed up in the bottom of the wardrobe and i just thought she can play dress up with this dress and have loads of fun with it.

I ordered my flowers from a lady who trades as Passion flowers

I have hot pink and white orchids hand tied with hot pink ribbon and she added a silver starfish made with florist wire.

Pauls girls are carrying starfish wands made with hot pink wire with a white orchid in the top.

She made Pauls buttonhole and that has a small hot pink wire starfish and a magnet to hold it to his jacket.

She provided me three orchid stems and some greenery and crystals that i needed to complete the table decorations The grand total £175

Im delighted with them and they are already out in Greece as the owners of Peligoni allowed us to send all of our things out with the cars and container that was going out at the end of March.

I really should do my planning thread just need to buy Pauls shirt and my jewelry and we are done

One of my best buys from this forum was my TOJ that the very talented Cheylmo made for me they are simply perfect.I know i will cry lol

I also bought my veil on here and as i said before my raffia fans.

I ordered pashminas from ebay

Petal cones with shower the couple with love and petals tags

Jelly bean cones with love is so sweet........ both from ebay

Led underwater lights from ebay and all my table decorations ie tea light holders from ikea.

Yesterday i found the mens(my sons) shirts fom Matalan yep matalan.I was concerned as i need four three for my sons one for Pauls that i would end up paying a fortune which i couldnt justify really.I originally was going with white short sleeve white but i got chatting to a lady in Marks and spencer and she said her brother is a wedding photographer and he hates short sleeve shirts in photos.

With that in my head i went searching for long sleeves

I found four white grandad collor shirts that have about five buttons held on with turquoise thread which are just perfect never did i dream of finding a shirt for £12 and the detail of turquoise on them too(big smile)

My dress i found last week in Jodies bridal a bargain!!!!!!!!!!!

It was in the sale but when i asked the price the lady/owmer/manager said £350 she didnt have her glasses on!!! As i walked to the mirror she told me she had made an error and it was £850 BUT if i liked what i saw she would honour the price.

I loved it its a pronovois called desert and ive ordered some crystal banding to add some bling.Id looked at wedding belts on etsy and they were £300 plus so i searched the net and now await the postman to deliver the crystals i ordered for £40.

Have any of you looked at Dial a flight for your flights hotels.I have booked two trips to New York with them and they were fab you work with one person they work on commission so if you called them up the first person you speak with will give there name and then a direct number should you want to think it over etc.

Im your confident you can work with the hotel directly i cant see it being a problem

I am worried about the bloody volcano but trying not to let it take over my every thought.

Happy wedding planning let me know what you think of Peligoni xxxx

Yey a UK thread! Love this site!

I'm Emily, live in Gloucester and getting married on 5th Oct 2010 in Mexico at the Riu Tequila!

Was a bit annoyed about the whole 80% guest rule, but there are 2 other Riu hotels right across the road, so some guests are staying in those hotels and are still classed as Riu guests!

We've only got 14 people coming with us, which is plenty for us, we did want to run away originally but Mother's would have never forgiven us! Lol!

We're keeping it pretty simple and not having many extra's, we just want the day to be about us!

Is any one having a reception at home (or an AHR as it's called on this site!) We're having ours 3 days after we get back - so need to get everything sorted before we go to Mexico! Then we're also being a bit greedy and having a Honeymoon in Las Vegas one day after the party! It works out to be a month long celebration!

What's everyone doing for Hen partys?

Oh also has anyone thought about wedding music - Walking down aisle, signing registrar, first dance etc.

Sorry for all the questions!

Emily (Price to be - thankfully I'm not called Katie!!)

We are having an AHR - a week after we get back - we have about 175 to invite at the moment on our draft list - ironically this is going to cost us more than the mexican wedding! We will just be having like an evening reception though no sit down meal. Then we will be doing a European city break for our honeymoon - have decided where yet tho.

Walking down the aisle music is Elbow - one day like this
Walking back down the aisle is Jason Mraz - Im yours

other than that i havent done much planning - especially the first dance as we dont have an 'our song'!

Havent started on the hen night yet other than it will probably be in Brighton or London (im originally from Brighton and London is easy for us all to get to) - we are having a rowdy mexican meal but thats about as far as we have got.

roo66 OMG you have done so much. Reading it all has made me think i need to make a list! I keep thinking "i have a yr" but i know that time is just gonna go soooo fast!! I love your colours aqua n pink! Lovely! Sounds like you have an eye for a bargain too! And the dress WOW what a result that was! I will look up where you are going! I love Greece! It's nice hearing all your planning and you only have a few weeks left to go how exciting!

I wanted to get the fans for our guests too :o)

Mrs Price 2010 - Hello!! Wow you are gonna have a fun packed month!! We are having an AHR two weeks after we return from Mexico! No honeymoon for us though. Not stragiht away anyhow. I might look into a long weekend away somewhere (and get mum to have the kids, lol)...

I have my song for walking down the aisle but we are really struggling with our first dance song. As we dont have "a" song so it's hard choosing. We did like Amazed by lonestar but our friends recently had that so it's put us off :o(...

As for a hen. My sister MOH is going to sort this out. I think it will be end of April at the Ashford Internationl hotel it's a Q hotel. Very nice. She has looked at a deal for lunch, 2 spa treatments (use of spa and can book additional treatments), 2 course dinner, overnight stay and breakfast it's £99! Then we will have a girls night out in Mexico at CoCo Bongos!! That will be the night we let our hair down! lol

What is everyone else doing? xx

We're hopefully having Lonstar! But have a couple of friends weddings before ours, so not setting my heart on anything before I've heard there's!
I want Signed Sealed Delivered when signing the papers! But that's it at the moment!

Planning on going to London for my Hen do, not sure what's planned yet!

Emily Price sounds so much better than Katie Price anyway!! haha :-)
Welcome.

Emily please can i ask where you found out the info on guests still being able to come to the wedding even if they are staying at another RIU? we are having a dilema at the mo with some guests on price at the RIU palace and they wanted to stay at another RIU but from how i have read the RIU site i thought it meant 80% guests have to stay at YOUR hotel? so if they stay across the road they are classed as part of the 80%?
Thanks
xoxo

I think it looks pretty good!! couple of things I noticed;
  • Beading (or whatever its called) on the close up pic goes up slightly at the top middle.
  • Could do with more beading to replicate original?
  • need to check about the pockets as no reference to those
  • does the top section look quite long to anyone else?

Thanks
Woop woop!! Posted this on the knock off thread thought i'd post it here too for you girls to see incase you dont read that thread! let me know what you think x
