what about footloose? my girlfriends and I always dance to that one...we had a ton of people dancing to sweet caroline at ours...oh and tons of people requested journey.

What's the age bracket of your crowd? What I would play for myself and my friends to dance to would not be the same thing I would play for my aunts, uncles and grandparents. For us, we are trying to find a bunch of songs that fit that happy medium then find a select few that hit each generation so they are happy.

 

For me, I just don't want gramps sitting in the corner mumbling about the crap young people listen to, ya know? I want him to bust a hip. Figuratively.

I agree!

We are going to play a lot of shag music because a majority of guests will be older and that's always great dance music. Plus, our friends will dance to anything danceable ... whereas the older crowd won't dance unless they know the songs, you know?
