A note though...the beach at the resort is a public beach so the photographers can have whatever they want. Ours came the day after and did a shoot on the beach with backlighting etc. :).

We were prepared to pay the extra 100 if it became an issue, but they never said anything...so dont pay it in advance is my advice! :)
ok, great. thanks for the info. very helpful!

JESS - do you remember the name of the beach on the gran porto side that you thought was so pretty? i'm at playa norte, crossing my fingers that it happens to be the prettiest one (at least in your opinion)!

thanks!

I agree that its so ridiculous that they're making us to pay $$ for open bar where it is all inclusive. I did not pay for extra. I figured the guests can wait a hour to get drinks at the reception!

Jen, thanks for posting pictures and your feedback. I am glad that you think the beach by Peclianos is beautiful because that';s where I am getting married at. I hope there are no weddings going on at the central garden as mine. =(

You know the hole beach was beautiful on that side. She never told me the names since we never looked to get married there. I think your fine in any spot that you pick.

Hi Lisa,

I think its just because its so shadowy in the gazebo so the pictures come out looking dark.

I plan on writing a post about this subject.... LOTS of detail and photo examples. I'm also going to make it a new post, so it doesnt get lost in the 3 zillion other posts in this thread.... I am just swamped and need some time to organize my thoughts, etc prior to posting.

Without a doubt, RUN, JUMP, go there as fast as you can.... have the ceremony at the front edge or outside the gazebo. when its inside, we feel like this: smile105.gif

This was EXACTLY my #1 concern about having the ceremony in the gazebo. Specifically The Royal & Real gazebos are all DARK WOOD SOLID ROOF, so I don't love how dark it looks inside in pics.

I know it's actually beautiful IN REAL LIFE, when you are there in person....but I'm really concerned about the photos.

Matt - please post your thread on this topic! We are planning to get married at The Royal PDC (might still do Cancun) and not sure if we do gazebo or beach. WE only have 6 guests, so if gazebo, we were going to have them INSIDE the gazebo.

Thanks! Please post example pics, too :)

I feel the same way and we have a MUCH larger gap between ceremony and reception. We have about 2 and a half to 3 hours inbetween. I figure that the only perk to having a cocktail hour is privacy. But our group is pretty social so I figure that going to the lobby bar or pelicanos for drinks during this time would be better anyways. This way they will get to mingle and dance with other people. Also, since it is AI they are paying for those drinks and will get a much wider selection of alcohol than they would at the cocktail hour anyway this makes sense.

Im in the same boat as you, I have three hours in between. My cocktail hour will serve to take up an hour of that break and give people some things to munch on before dinner. I guess Im not too worried about the alcohol since, I think Jen, said that waiters come by and take drink orders (which will be free anyways). Also, people can walk over to the bar and get drinks, right?

P.S. Ive decided Im done thinking about everything and just gonna go with the flow from now on!! SIX DAYS TIL WE LEAVE!!
