Ring Dilemma!

Hi MDLady, I just went through the same problem. My engagement ring is a cushion cut but a rectangular shape so the wedding band had to be custom made with a big curve in it. Sadly I won't be able to wear it without my engagement ring but I love it so much I'm okay with it. My FI had my ring custom made so we went to the same jeweler for the wedding bands. I just got the price the other night and it was significantly lower than I was expecting! I priced out similar bands with brand names attached to them (Tacorri) at jewelry stores and they were almost 2x as much as I'm paying. Good luck!

I agree with all the other ladies, custom isn't as expensive as you might think! My engagement ring was custom made, and it saved my FI thousands of dollars! We're looking to get my wedding band made by the same guy since i have a specific idea in mind and can't seem to find it in the store. It's worth checking out at least! Good luck!

Another one for custom here, it can be very inexpensive. I'll have only one ring, a platinum solitaire with little diamonds in the band, but it's custom made, and not costly compared to a store mount. A small plain band wouldn't have cost much. My DBF's band is more expensive (if you don't count my diamond), but it's very heavy and 18K white gold. Most mall stores make men's band in 10K, to keep cost similar to women's!

Thank you ladies for all the advice. My fiance ordered the ring from a jeweler in Chicago (we live in DC), I honestly don't know why, I think his friends recommended that person. So going back to them will be rather difficult with just 2 months to the wedding. I will see if I can find a jeweler in the area to take a look at the ring. I wouldn't mind having this as my wedding band as well but my fiance wants to buy rings that kind of match. Thanks again!!!!

My FI had my engagement ring custom made from a private jeweler in Center City Philadelphia. We are planning to go to him for our bands and the quotes we got are really great.
