Guest photographers Royal Playa Del carmen?

Recommended Posts

Hello , I am attending a friends wedding in Mexico and the resort is The Royal playa del carmen.

We are staying at another REAL resort up the street and I think we have to pay for a day pass to get in.

I am taking my camera (pro camera) with me and was wondering if this resort has a policy about off resort photographers/ guests shooting.

I know that the bride has declined the services of the resort photographer.

any help would be cool. thanks

Jeff

I would have the bride check for sure. She might have to pay a fee to bring on an outside vendor. I know that most resorts don't allow vendors to purchase day passes, but they can take photos if they are guests at the resort.

I can't believe the bride would book a photographer w/o checking into it though, so I would double check with her!

Yeah, I would have the travel agent contact the resort. It's pretty typical now that photographers must say on the resort property... otherwise pay a heft fee to bring one in.

I am getting married at the royal and we are bringing our own photographer with us. (It's a friend of ours who is staying at the royal as well.) They told me that as long as she was a guest of the resort that it was fine she could take as many pictures as she wanted with no outside vendor fee. Not sure how it works since you are staying at the Real, but I really dont think it would be too different. She should check with her WC. Also, if you are staying at another REAL resort, you should not need a day pass for the day of the wedding. This is what I was told. Any other day you will, but not for the wedding.

Yup got the info from the bride. All is good. We had to upgrade our room at the Real Playa del carmen to a master room to get full access to the other resorts.
No vendor fees or day passes needed.

thanks for all your help guys. :)

Girls in Cancun or PLaya mostly works this way:

If you are a guest resort you are more than welcome to take your camera along with you and take pictures of the wedding, even if it is pro level camera, I have taken thousends of weddings and al least there is always one guest with a nice pro camera.

If you are not guest and you are a friend coming don to ten the weding you have to pay a day pass, night pass or both, depends on the hotel policy, some resorts do not charge any fee at all like Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda.

If you are a vendor, this is another story and full of different policies, you hve to call the resort for moe information.
