May 2010 Brides!

Ladies, I am so sorry about the bail outs. =( Really stinky.

I had a friend who was bringing his guitar down and playing our wedding song (first dance). Not only does he not call to say he's not coming, his GF wrote the RSVP with no note or anything. So I texted him (because I would have cursed had it been a phone conversation) and said, 'so I got your RSVP, guess your not singing at our wedding'. He writes back, 'I am so sorry, I want to call you to explain, I hate my like write now, things are so busy.'

Did he call....Nooooo.

Whatevs...everyone who is coming wants to be there =)

Mad? I'm am piiiiissssed. These people had over 2 years to save, plan etc. One of them has tons of money and says he can't get time off work (which is BS) he's going to a DW a month prior for 2 days and a girl he works with is coming to my wedding for 5 with no issues. The next groomsman literally fell off the face of the earth, I haven't heard from him in a year so, bye bye. The third groomsmen didn't tell me he was coming until I emailed him letting him know I bought a tie for him and then trying to say he told my FI he wasn't coming, which he didn't. Soooo... yeah, good old flakey men.

I had a lot of fickle people, originally had 65 RSVP, down to now 40 booked so a lot of people have a lot of lame reasons. No I'm not bitter... hahaha wink.gif smile27.gif
Brutal, brutal, brutal!!!! Some people are so inconsiderate. In my opinion, people these days don't know what the word commitment means. In many situations, but this is also a commitment. A commitment to be there for your friend and stand beside him on one of the best days of his life.

Aww that's terrible! Especially someone bailing that has such an important job, I can't believe he had the audacity to not even give you the courtesy of a phone call, instead had his girlfiend RSVP with no explanation. The revenge seeker in me can't wait until these people get married wink.gif

You're right though, the important people will be there and make it happen and that's all that matters!

You're absolutely right, it is a commitment and it's sad people can be so fickle about things and inconsiderate. I've learned a lot about people in the last couple years. More than I ever thought I would!

So I gave the FI a list of the To Do things and he was not happy. He wants to be involved in everything, but I don't think he knew what everything was.

So far we still need to finish up the fan programs and put them together, order the totes and contents for the OOT bag, finish up the welcome letter, get flower girl dress, order the GM pants and dads suits, get parents gifts and readers gifts, find bags for the favors, make thank you tags for the favors, make the table cards and finish up seating arrangments, amongst other things.

But most important is finding out what needs to be paid in cash and what we can use the travelers checks for...

My florist FINALLY got back to me...raised the price...and now has dropped it again. So I am waiting for his mock-up centerpiece =)

UGH!

yeah, it's starting to feel like "omg, i have to do this!" not "oh, i have plenty of time to do that" haha...oh dont get me started cash...we're barely making it through...god knows where we'll get our cash from in may. Lol. Do not make a life change before getting married (i.e. new puppy). That will drain your savings! Lol.

I know what you mean... everything has to be done NOW. Everytime FI says, "I'll do it later" or "not now" I'm like... we don't have that much time to be putting stuff off!!

Awww but new puppies are SO much fun!! What kind of dog did you get? I can only have fish is my apartment, but I have like 40 fish, they keep multiplying! One of our pregnant fish had babies last night... yes I said one of them because there 2 more pregnant fish in there still.

I have so much to do... my list keeps growing!

I am starting dance lessons for our first dance this Sunday (FI requested dance lessons... for him, he doesn't know how to slow dance, we've tried it and he just sways like he's at a junior high dance)

I still have to figure out the escort cards/table cards, make reserved seating sign, tags for OOT bags, buy more OOT bag items, figure out where GM's are renting outfits from, buy floating candles for centerpieces once I get them to tell me vase sizes, make hangover kit sticker, print out all signage and frame it, buy TTD FI's outfit, complete must play/do not play song list for DJ... I really could go on and on.

O ladies.. My list is the same as all of you ladies.. I have to get my souvenirs, the bags pick our songs, item in the bags and god only knows what else lol....

I agree with all you ladies with people being so flaky.... It is so annoying my own brother hasnt even booked yet and on top of that he is giving me grief about his son. By the way me and my mom has paid for his son's room deposit (150) and his suit (150) and his flight (280). He is giving us so much Cr*p about paying us back... Like really he make almost triple my salary.... He has known about all these plans since august 2009 and I always told him hey i bought your sons flight and he oked the days and etc. But now he is on some crazy stuff... The best part is i spent maybe 150 for his suit and when i showed it to him he just had stupid comments like its to hot and not once asked how much do i owe you for that. For goodness sake he is my older brother and he acts like he is 2.... AHHHH I am so freaking angry with him... How dare him give us so (me and my mom) much grief... Like I dont have anything else to freaking worry about... Sorry Ladies I really need to vent I can't wait to go argue tonight... (By the way much more behind this ahhhhhh) I can't stand inconsiderate people... Well ladies lets keep planning... :)

Fish are good if you just need something pretty to look at...you wont have to clean up its poop or take them to the vet every time they get sick. Lol...we got a boxer and he's 5 months old already. he is a handful!!! vet bills do cost $$ because puppies get sick easily with stomach issues.

JT3, i am so sorry that you have to deal with your brother flaking!! he will get around soon!
