can u use sand from the beach in ur sand ceremony?

this may be a silly question, but I was thinking of using white, turquoise and the sand from the beach in our sand ceremony frame, is that allowed?

you know i really think it depends on the resort/area you are in. for example, in mexico the beach is government property, not resort property...and you aren't supposed to take the sand. but if you take it, who's really gonna know

we are using sand from the beach at Dreams...just don't mention it to/ask the WC and it shouldn't be an issue.

I would just scoop some and have it in the bottom of the vase before you hand it over to the WC to set up for the ceremony. Don't worry we won't spill the beans!

I am planning on linning the bottom of the vase first with sand from the beach, then using the coloured sand for the actual ceremony. I always bring a small amount of sand home from where I travel. I just would not make a big deal about it.

Only thing I would caution you on is "sand flies".... Friends of ours did a photo shoot at the beach with a photographer from the resort and my girlfriend's legs and waist was covered in bites the following day. When they picked up their pictures the photographer told her that sometimes that happens and it from the sand. Just a heads up...

This is what we PLANNED on doing...go figure it rained and the sand was too wet to use because it was clumping and sticking to everything. So our WC placed 2 random flasks of sand in blue and pink on the alter for our ceremony hehehe.

I don't think it would be a huge issue if you just take a little, goodness knows you probably collect that much in your bathing suits bottoms and bags while spending a day on the beach!!
