Azul Sensatori Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

what are some of the TA's you all have been using?

I read a post today that kind of made me go Uh ohh!

Someone said that Destination Weddings really pushes Karisma hotels and I noticed that at first she was pushing me there and I said I thought it would be too expensive but my TA said no she didn't think ti would be out of my budget.

I guess it doesn't matter because so far from what I have seen and researched I love the look of both AB and AS. But just don't want to think that my TA (who I happen to like) has "gotten one over on me"

I guess that is just me being paranoid/silly though b/c if I am happy with my decision to check them out then I shouldn't care how or why I chose them.

ok enough rambling sorry....

Not to harp on this for everyone out there that this doesn't apply to, but it just blows my mind that they're doing this. And so close to the date.

Initially, our options were 1) The beach up to 50 guests 2) the Wave Lounge as long as it's under 25 (We have 28 and they refused to fit a seated dinner in the Lounge b/c we were 3 guests over the limit) or 3) the Blue Terrace.

Now, it's 1) the beach 2) the wave lounge with the same restrictions, or 3) a semi-private dinner in the Blue International Restaurant.

So, anyone that wants a private reception with over 25 guests but less than 50 is totally screwed, unless you want your reception directly on the beach!!

OMG, I'm sorry I'll stop ranting until I have an update on the situation...

You have GOT to be kidding me. I would be livid too!!! Tiffany JUST e-mailed me yesterday, and said we could have a private reception for $14 per person, which includes a "private area, private service staff & international bar"...I didn't even bother to ask where this would be, since I just assumed it would be inside.

Sigh.

And the official answer is...... Wait, are you ready for it?

No way no how are we getting the Blue Terrace!

Because we haven't paid our balance yet (due Monday), nothing is considered "official." They consider us to have been in "negotiations" up until now and therefore feel they have the right to change or renege on promises made.

We added it up and in total our party is paying over $24,000 just for the rooms. We will have almost 15% of the rooms at the resort while we're there. We helped get them to capacity, and now that they're operating at full capacity, we get screwed. There are not enough censors for what I'm feeling toward them!!

Hmm that's weird... my TA from DW.com gave me a bunch of other options and didn't seem too gungho on AS. He was suggestions Secrets and all those other places first.... although, AS wasn't even open when I was looking into it... jeez I've been doing this for too long.

That's ridiculous! That still doesn't make sense. I'd fight it still... did you talk to Fabio? Like Amy said, I think you should not count ANYTHING out until you talk to the onsite coordinators... they are the ones that are going to bend over backward for you.

We're not counting our chickens yet. But, apparently we're not the only couple up in arms about this. This new policy went live 2 weeks ago and they've been dealing with the backlash ever since. I'm told the resort has yet to cave for a couple.

Nothing's final, but we're checking other options. I have a call in to my photographer. He has connections in Puerto Morelos and we're thinking he might know of a restaurant in town that would be more than willing to take our money!

This is crazy!!!!!!!!!! I don't know if I should call and start bitching now or wait until they try to tell me this. NUTS. This is SO unprofessional!

I just spoke to FI and he said absolutely no to on the beach and I have to say I agree. I don't like sand everywhere. And what happens if it rains? Where do they put you then?

I read on Trip Advisor just recently they offered $500 to bump a family for one night and then changed their story and said only $500 resort credit - they had 1 night mind you to use it - then when they got to AS the spa was booked solid and they would not accept the resort credit in the store so they bascially got nothing for moving their 3 kids.

I finally get a day off to catch up on things and boy things are crazy!!! how can they make up rules as the go and start enforcing them immediately without consideration of contracts already in the planning stage. I'm sorry if you have put any kind of deposit down on your wedding they have no right to change it. If the shoe was on the other foot and you wanted to make changes I'm almost positive they would charge you an arm and a leg to do it! If the make you change then they need to give you all the accommodations to change locations FREE!! Praying for you!

Wow you ladies have been on a rollercoaster ride it seems like. I hope I can make is not a cute look for me. Thats why i chose dw.com to handle the travel stuff. Laurie has been great and you better believe I've already told her about the bad job tiffany has been doing. I just didn't have a name for her to refer my wedding coordinating to. If you all know who is/has been good to work with please let me know. With my job i rarely have down time and can't afford major mishaps!

So when should us 2011 brides start resevering reception locations and packages and all those details? What should my timeline look like?
