What inserts did you/are you including with your invitations?

Recommended Posts

I'll post some pics, too, once they are complete. If you are interested, here is what I have for travel info:

Travel Details

Passport Information

While Mexico does not require a passport to enter their country (a birth certificate is sufficient), as of June 1, 2009, all US citizens will be required to hold a US passport to re-enter the United States by land, sea or air. So, unless you plan to make Puerto Vallarta your next residence, you’ll need a passport to get back home! If you don’t already have one, visit Passport Home for detailed information. Allow 4 – 6 weeks for routine processing and 2 – 3 weeks for expedited.

Climate

Historical Temperatures in May average 77˚F, with a High of 85˚F and Low of 70˚F. Humidity averages 87% - 68%. Water temperature is around 79˚F.

Getting Around

With more than 1,000 taxis in town, there is no problem hailing one. Taxi fares are set in Puerto Vallarta; the average fare is around $30 pesos or $3 USD. A trip across town is about $60 pesos or $6.00 USD.

If you plan on doing any day excursions to some of the surrounding cities and beaches, renting a car is an easy and inexpensive option. There are many rental establishments at the airport, in town, or near your hotel. If you would like more information, just ask us!

My website will be the mail source for information. After they receive the invite, a brief card about the resort and travel info and RSVP they can refer to the site for travel forms, packing lists, activities, saftey tips, an intro to the guest list so they know who they are travelling with. Not sure about a welcome dinner yet. Too soon for me to plan.

When we arrive, in the OOT bags I want to have a fan and on each layer will have specific details about the ceremony time and location, reception, welcome dinner, guest bios and space for room numbers so we can find each other, key spanish words etc.

Wow I have a lot of work to do!

Our wedding is in April, so last month we sent out the invitation packages to the people who we already know are coming. We put it everything in an envelope with a ribbon to hold it all together. The firt thing was a little card that was called Contents and listed everything in the package which was:

-Boarding Pass (the invitation part)
-Passport (we made these to include all sorts of information of the destination and our wedding)
-Resort Brochure
-Packing List (very cute papers that my sister found at Michaels)
-A pack of gum and a wordsearch to do on the plane

Everyone loved the packages and thought it was something that came with our wedding package but we actually made them all (except the packing list and gum of course).
So did you have a confirmation of who all would attend your wedding before you placed your deposit at your location? I'm planning to book at Playa Fiesta in PV but I'm nervous about the room buy-outs. You either have to do a partial or full takeover of the place (the full is much cheaper) but I'm nervous I'll either have too many guests, or not enough.

Playa Fiesta is wonderful! Check out the thread for Playa Fiesta and you'll get most of your questions answered. We're booked there and went back and forth about full or partial. We chose full take-over and we are so glad we did. Only 2 rooms left to book. It depends of course on how many you are inviting. We have also checked out an overflow hotel and chose El Presidente Intercontinental (it is close by, nice quality and reasonably priced).

Good luck!

Hi All-

We also didn't do too much. We had the invite, response card, accommodation and travel info (with welcome party invite on the reverse side). The accommodation and travel info was basic and included "for more info see www..."

We are also going to send out an email to everyone after our response deadline with all airport arrival info, passport, attire for the wedding and find out who wants to play in the golf tourney, etc.

:)

  • 1 month later...

There are a lot of great ideas if you search the DIY thread. A lot of people have posted their invites with all of the inserts. They have also posted what they put in the welcome letter.

I think the options are endless. You can put in a ton of things, but if you have a website it may be easier just to direct people to that.

did anyone do an insert mentioning the at home reception?

i havent started my invites yet (Reeaaally need to get on this) but i was thinking of doing three inserts (rsvp, at home reception, and further details on the mexico wedding)....we did a passport save the date that pretty much told everything about both so i kinda feel like im doing the same thing over again in a different format.

i have a website, but hardly anyone uses it...people just call instead sad.gif
