Jess, I just returned from my wedding at Dreams. It was sold out over this busy weekend as well. I didn't feel overwhelmed with too many people and my room service ALWAYS arrived in under 20 minutes, even during busy hours. Everyone was still very accomodating and there were chairs available poolside the entire time. I ordered chicken nuggets literally 10 minutes before my car service was supposed to arrive to take us to the airport and they arrived in 8 minutes (I asked them to rush it for our daughter) I believe there was a 35 minute wait on one evening for a restaurant. I told them my group was there for my wedding and they seated about 15 of us in less than 20 minutes. I would not worry about feeling overwhelmed even in a "sold out" situation, they are AMAZING!! Good luck with further planning

Some of the websites, like Orbitz, might have space because they have a certain number of rooms allocated to them. If your TA was booking with the hotel directly it might show up as fully booked because they have all their rooms spoken for.

The resort was sold out during our wedding as well, and like everyone has already said it did not feel very busy. There was plenty of room and lots of chairs cheesy.gif goodluck!

Right now, we've paid a $2000 deposit through Sunquest.... but to be honest, I don't know if that's for the room block or not. Best thing to do is contact my TA, but if anyone knows, please post! Thanks! :)
Angela, I am also booking through Sunquest. We also paid the $2000 deposit which I understand is to secure a group booking and block a certain number of rooms for our group. Once people book, the deposit will be credited to our room booking. However, the rate that we were quoted is only being held for about 6 weeks and then it goes up so we are trying to get everyone to book early.

Jess.

One of the reasons the hotel charges the day pass fee is to keep the resort from feeling "overwhelmed". You have to look at it from other guests perspective. They paid good money to stay at the resort and use the resort facilities.

Your guests that do not book at the resort DID NOT.

It is very unfair for the resort guests that paid to stay there to be inconvenienced by others that did not pay.

The day pass fee goes to cover extra food AND service costs that will incur with people not staying at the resort.

That brings it all into perspective Tammy. I had to pay the day pass for 6 guests and did not even complain. I know the costs to stay on property and I saw firsthand the EXCELLENT service that was provided throughout the entire stay so I know that it is worth every penny!!

If I were you I would not plan around hopes getting the day pass fee "waived" not only would it not be fair to other brides that had to pay the fee, but it is highly unlikely that they will waive it unless your guests had reservations at Dreams and showed up and was given a room at the sister property. (This happened to 2 of my guests)

For what I believe is a rare occurance, Dreams was so accomodating by providing free taxis to travel back and forth between the hotels --they were literally right next door to each other..no taxis were used except when it was dark. Those guests were given free passes to use the faciilities at all times and received other treats for what could have been an inconvenience it they weren't so darn helpful and nice. They offered to move them on property the very next day, but they stayed at the sister property because they were so well taken care of.

Ok...just spoke with my wedding coordinator and they are being more than accomodating. They have offered to waive the day passes for the entire weekend for anyone that can't make a reservation at the hotel, and for those that can't, if that wasn't enough she offered to move the entire party to Zoetry (next door and way more expensive) at the Dreams rate! I couldn't be more pleased with how they are handling everything! And I am so glad to hear that the hotel is still nice and quiet even when it's packed!
