Hello. I have the original photo files (and permission to use) from my photographer. I'm looking for someone to design my album. Mostly interested in a magazine style book. Any recommendations for some steller work? Looking for a high end look and finish.

You might want to check with some of the vendors are this site. I know for a fact that Sarah (Sproull Designs) does books, and I'm pretty sure the Melissa (Melissa Green Photography) and Tammyb (Tammyb Photography) do it.

I never got a photo album, so I will eventually be doing something with them... The photogs will not be able to respondthat they can do it in this thread though since that would be considered solicitation. So I just wanted to give you some names that popped out to me...

I'd be interested to hear who else got their books done and if they were impressed!

Hi there,

I *just* went through all this too:-)

I did research some album designers, and got some recommendations from pro photographers I know....
Also, as mentioned above, Sarah Sproullie, who's a vendor on this site, gets great reviews on here!
Here's a link to a thread reviewing one of her books:

Also, here are two of the sites/companies that came recommended to me:

Albumesque - menu

Wedding Album Design -

In the end I decided to design our album myself, just b/c I like doing that kind of stuff...
If you're the same way, you might consider purchasing Lumapix Fotofusion software to design the pages, which is what I did. (*Thanks for the recommendation and help Morgan!)

Then I ordered our album through Black River Imaging, which is one of the FEW places (actually it was the ONLY one I could find!) that will sell flush-mount albums to NON pro phtotographers:-)

Anywaaaaay, hope this helps, good luck!

Hi!  I'm new to this site, but if you haven't already found a designer, I'd be happy to help.  I'm a graphic designer specializing in wedding albums.  My design fee is $6 per page, with unlimited changes and photoshopping.  I order albums (flush mount and premium photobooks) from all the same sources photographers do, but without the mark up, including: Black River Imaging, Zookbinders, Finao, and NationsPhotoLab.

My advice to you when choosing a graphic designer is to carefully review their portfolio to be sure their design taste matches yours...and be sure to find someone who is flexible, patient, and willing to make any changes you want to the design.   Graphic designers can also help you wade through the overwhelming number of album types and varieties available and help you find the right album for you and your budget.   www.InspiredAlbumDesigns.com   Susan Gallagher
