ok, so I was speaking with a friend today about how "wedding poor" I have become in the last month with all of these expenses! She was wondering if we really need to dish out the $1000 USD plus 26% tax to have to SSG rented just to our party for the entire night. So my question for those who have been there, is if you think that there might be a way to section off the restaurant so that it is still private? Also - since there are 9 a la carte's, would the whole restaurant even be that packed in the first place?

Just wondering, cause if I can save almost $1500 Canadian dollars then I just might!

We have decided that we are not going to pay to "hire" the ssg nor pay the extra to have everyone served at the same time. We have paid £1000 plus each for an all inclusive holiday, which encludes food and drink, also I have 22 people all paying to stay at their hotel therefore I am refusing to pay for food we have already paid for!!! We are just going to ask for a table to be set up at the side of the ssg and we will all get our food when it comes!! I'm quite sure none of my guests will complain. I am having an evening reception when we get home for all the guests unable to make it to dlr, (and I get to wear my dress again). So it is costing us a lot too. Something somewhere has to give.

Also ther are two reviews on trip advisors of weddings at DLR, one paid for a private reception, the other didn't and she said her tables were set away from the others in the restaurant and the waiters and staff were fantastic to them, they felt it was private enough and didn't regret not having a private reception.
I completely understand and agree with having to pay extra but if you have over 20 ppl it looks like the only free option is the world cafe. Check out this link its on the dreams website and go to page 11. Also i know children under 12 its half price for the private reception which could help cut cost.

I have been at the resort last April and absolutely loved it. It's fun and the activities are great. I assure you your guests will enjoy their stay. I also have very similar questions and did not get a chance to go through all the posts.

Amy, I read on one post that you are planning to have orange color theme. That was exactly what I was planning to do and I am looking into buying my own decorations (simple ones so I can transport them). I contacted Tiara about Dreams Ultimate package decorations but did not get a response. Sorry if this was discussed, but do they have anything orange/fuschia?

Thanks everyone for all the great posts! And very nice meeting all of you!
Dasha

Dasha - YAY!!! You're only TWO days before me! Our group is going on a Seavis excursion that day, but I will try to sneak a peak of your fabulous wedding when we return!
There are a few of us splitting fuchsia/orange decorations (my theme is turning out a little more fuchsia I think).

I don't remember if Tiara said they had orange or fuchsia chair ties, but I remember that she didn't have one of my colours, so I'm just doing fuchsia ones and bringing them myself.

Jenne- Thanks for posting that, very helpful!

Ok, the hair pics are coming up next!!

Oh thanks for that link, I've somehow managed to miss that!!! It looks like I'll have no choice but to pay as I am absolutely not walking round the buffet in my dress. I'm not happy about having a set menu though as my two bridesmaid both 15 are really fussy eaters so it will be hard to please everyone. Also didn't realise you can post stuff directly to the hotel, thats handy, I'm bringing out dried petals to match my colour scheme and personalised cones to hand out to the guests, and also to make the aisle with. It would be soooo much handier to post them out before.

Again Mnay thanks for that link xo
