Zulma contacted me. I needed to figure out shipping some stuff down there and I got handed off to Zulma. I emailed her on Thursday and still haven't heard back. I'm sure she is swamped. She did email me prior to that with how to ship my stuff down there, but suggested I not do it. I don't really have a choice at this point though!

Can I ask why she recommended that you not do it? I was seriously planning on doing the same thing!

There are options for the beach decorations. I am doing the colored chair sashes and tulle fabric on the huppa. They will charge you an arm and leg if you let them do the decorations so it is the best to bring your own decorations so they can put them up free of charge.
We saw two weddings on the beach during our site visit. Unfortunetly they do nope rope it off. I just want to be honest with you if you don't want on lookers in your pictures the beach is not for you. Not only was there a sea of on lookers but we even saw topless people who turned their beach chairs in to watch the wedding. I don't know if this is typical its just what we saw when we were there. The beach was a complete mob scene. Your best bet would be to maybe get married at sunset. When we were there in November by 5 to 6 the beach was totally empty.

Hi ladies! I will also be getting married at the Royal in Playa del Carmen. I was lucky to be in Playa del Carmen last week for another wedding and visited the Royal a couple of times while there. We saw two weddings on the beach on Friday afternoon. After that I decided that I definitely didn't want to have my wedding on the beach. There were A LOT of onlookers, some pretty close and I'm sure they ended up in the wedding photos of the ceremony. The hotel staff do not put up ropes and since the beach is public they can't even ask people to move away. I can email you some of the pictures I took if you give me your email address. I tried to attach them to this post, but they're too big.

Well, I could use some speedo in my pictures! :)
That is why it is soooooooooooo great that PhotoShop was invented! You can erase those people right out of your pics like they were never there! And think about it, maybe you will get in a few laughs before you delete them out!
