My informal tentative RSVP was Dec 1- the deadline guests could book their travel with our agent. Well it's Dec 5 and only 10 ppl have booked( including bride and groom). 50+ ppl expressed interest, I don't know what happened. I plan to send a "reminder to book" email to my immediate family. I don't want to seem annoying but it's good to have a sense of how many ppl are coming to make plans for menu etc.

Sheree...maybe folks are waiting until after the holidays....maybe you can see if they are still interested but just have not booked as of yet for some reason?

My wedding website has an RSVP feature...some have used it...most have not yet...i figure that folks are just waiting until the new year...

Hey Ladies!!!! I'm glad to hear there are others planning on July destination weddings. Also seems like the "teacher" aspect seems to be the common thread. My fiance is a teacher so rather than making friends and family travel during peak season...we decided on early July!

Name:Sabrina

FI Name: Chris

Wedding Destination: Ocean Sand & Blue , Punta Cana

What made you choose this destination?Heard the beaches are fantastic..price is reasonable and my wedding coordinator is FANTASTIC

Wedding Date: July 6th 2010

What made you choose this date? The earlist date we could get...closest to the end of school year...

Have you decided on your wedding colors? If so, what are they? Nope

What is something unique about your wedding? I have a 6 year old daughter from a previous marriage. She loves my fiance...she will be walking me down the isle and will be incorporated in the ceremony by standing by me and accepting Chris into our family!

Tell us anything else about yourself and/or your wedding: I'm looking to share my photographer....so if you know any other Punta Cana brides for this week, send them my way :-)

I think you may be right. I'm sure I'll hear from some people after the New Year. Good thing is that we put a hold on 10 rooms so there is some more time to book.

Hey Ladies,

Can't believe we're just over 6 months away!

Here's an update on our Done List and Still to Do List:

Done:

- Ordered my dress

- Bought my ceremony shoes

- Purchased FI's outfit

- Sent Invitations (we didn't do STD's) and have 43 RSVP's back saying their coming

- Most guests have put deposits down

- Have reception site, ceremony date and time all set and booked with WC

- Bought Sand Ceremony Frame

- Bought Guest Book Picture Frame (we're having our guests sign the mat)

- BM's have purchased their dresses

- Created 100 postcards for OOT Bags through Vista Print

- Ordered Bouquets, Bouts and Corsages from Plumerias

- Working on Pre-departure Brochure and Meet the Guest Page

- Working on bags and mugs (have a contact and will order in the new year!)

- Booking Boudoir Shoot for late February (extra gym motivation!)

- Purchased my wedding bands

- Planning music using spreadsheet...most music decided on

- Created Program template fr ceremony

Still To Do:

- Get GM's outfits (waiting till our March Break trip to the states)

- Get paperwork legalized (3 months out)

- Purchase FI's wedding band

- Have hair trials

- Get Reception flat sandals (probably silver flip flops)

- Load I POD with playlists for ceremony and reception

- Choreograph and practice our Rock the Reception first dance

- Finalize centre pieces (I'm thinking we'll use the girls bouquets on silver chargers with sea shells around)

- Work on OOT Bags

- Create Luggage Tags to send with pre-departure brochure (End of March)

- Print programs and assemble ceremony program fans

That's all I can think of...it's late! I'd love to hear how others are making out in the planning process!

Name:Stacey

FI Name: Christopher

Wedding Destination: Barcelo Maya Palace Maya Rivera, Mexico

What made you choose this destination? We have vacationed there twice and that is where Christopher proposed to me there.

Wedding Date: July 17th 2010

What made you choose this date? The earlist date we could get...closest to the end of school year...Teacher too:)

Have you decided on your wedding colors? I thought so, but today I changed again..............it is hard!!

What is something unique about your wedding? Christopher's dad recently passed away so our wedding will now be extra special for his family. His mom has shared that she is looking forward to this day so she can celebrate all the hard work they put into raising their son and watching him get married.

Tell us anything else about yourself and/or your wedding: My sister had a destination wedding in Jamaica and it was the most romantic wedding I have ever seen. I hope to capture that same moment with our beach wedding!

Hey everyone! I hung around the forum a lot this summer, but since the school year started (FI and I are both teachers) I've been crazy busy! I'm looking forward to getting back to the boards now that we're just 6 months away!! Just wanted to say hey and see what everyone is up to. I feel SO behind right now. Anyone else in the same boat??
