Mamajuana!

Hey Ladies!

So if you've researched or been to the dominican at all, you'd know about their famous drink Mamajuana! As part of the gifts I want to include @ my reception I want to make tiny bottles of Mamajuana. Has anyone done this, or know where I can get quality prepared ingredients for it?

I think it would be a fun gift to make for our guests and I haven't heard of anyone doing this on the board yet!

I think I'll order a bag and buy small bottles to fill it with and include the brewing guide.

OMG, that is a GREAT idea! I had really liked the idea of Jamaica rum or Mexican tequila, but totally forgot about Dominican Mamajuana - which is strange because one of the groomsmen LOVES the stuff and constantly makes us drink it as his summer bbqs...

I am totally going to do that.

btw, it would be cute to add the little story about it (renowned herbal tonic that is reputed to re-invigorate the flagging spirit at the times you need it most) and/or that it's known as 'liquid viagra'! LOL

It is a great idea!! I had planned on buying it for my wedding party as gifts once we got there, but if I could make it for he AHR it would be great!! Even for the OOT bags, a little bottle would be neat

Cute Idea!!! I went to the Domincan last year and we stayed at the Excellence Dom. Republic and one night they had an outside flea market & they were selling bottles of it very cheap,just a thought so you don't have to make it and travel with it, maybe your location will have a outside market night or something before your wedding, good luck!!

On the beach not far from Dreams (towards the rest of the hotels) is an outdoor market where you could buy it... you can get it cheap too, if you are up for the bartering challenge!!

yea i think ill use them for the AHR too! so i can just get them there instead of going through the hassle of making it myself! That way guests who didnt come can have something from the DR!
