Shan I wish you lived in NJ - I have the best fake ring!

 

Tracy - I wouldn't stress about the email - these people were supposed to RSVP by October 1 - they didn't do what they were supposed to do. How are you supposed to plan?

 

My RSVP date is December 31 - don't think that by January 2 I won't be on the phone with people finding out their decision.

I've gotten 4 RSVPs out of the 29 invitations sent out and still nobody has booked...including my mom. She forgot again...it's like a joke now.

aww, that's frustrating, atleast my parents booked (I don't know if it cause I am only child) I am sure your mom will book, she is probably waiting last minute, like the FI's parents. (they aren't involved in the wedding at all, very sad since the SIL got married in Aug and they were very much involved)

I'm at a point, I don't really care if anyone comes anymore besides my parents and of course the FI, I feel like if our family and friends really cared, even if they can't come they would have rsvp'd, to even just show some respect.

I love our dogs, sooo cute! Tonya- I happen to think Milky would have been the perfect partner in crime for Oreo, hehe

 

Shan- Any luck with the fake ring? Worst case scenario: go to a decent Jeweler and buy a good immitation for a couple hundred, then return it after you're finished with it?! Engagement photos are very important!!

 

Tracy- i think the email was a good idea. I hope people respect the deadline this time.

 

Michele- we have 10 people booked (us included) ALL on FI's side... my parents aren't in any hurry to play catch up either

 

My ticker is down to 5 MONTHS (4 weeks...), WOW!!! I don't think I've found a date twin yet... is anyone out there?!

I am getting married April 29th 2010 at the Royal Playa del Carmen! We have 30 booked so far! Engagement party is tonight, so hoping to recruit somemore of our friends to come along with us. It can be so hard to ask people to pay so much money, but in the end its goingt o be worth it. So excited

Erin- Swing Life Away is one of my faves and I never considered it until you mentioned it. It'll be beautiful for your processional!

 

Tracy- The email was straight to the point. I had to do the same thing to get people booked and it worked! So hopefully in your case people will start booking as well. Sometimes people just need a push and shove, don't worry. And as for one of your GM booking two vacations, I had to go through the same thing. Luckily, he is a true friend and booked his room. I hope your GM will do the same for you. Keep us updated!

 

Kimmy- Holy crap, 5 months to gO? That's crazy and I'm jealous haha!

Welcome Jen! I hope you have a great engagment party- keep us posted. We've got a few NS (or former NS like me!) brides on this thread- you'll fit right in.

 

I know, I have serious ticker envy too! I've got one of the later April dates, so it'll be a bit longer for me until mine rolls around to five months.

So I thought maybe we can post our names and where we are from (tho I know most know where most is from and their names, but for those who don't this will be super helpful)

Kimmy, I know it isn't quite the date twin you were thinking about, but my dad's birthday is the same day as your wedding date! LOL! I had to keep that AND FI's birthday (april 6) in mind when we were looking at dates. We already have too many birthday and anniversaries all through march so I didn't want to double up too much with our own anniversary.
And I was going to comment about my own ticker envy and then I realized that I'm just a week behind you OMG! SO exciting!

Welcome Jen! That's awesome you already have 30 guests booked! I think you've got one of the bigger groups - booked anyways - so far! We're expecting about the same number I think, and we're totally shameless about repeatedly asking our friends if they're coming, so I hope you have luck with the same at your engagement party!

hahaha, that's too funny! I do the same thing now and again, but I figured that I would be the one who hadn't heard of a band and was hopelessly searching only to find out it was the wrong thing Have you seen Rise Against live before??

Good call Tracy! I was thinking the same thing recently! Actually, I think we need to update the list of who's getting married on what dates as well, because we've had a few noobies lately too. So maybe we can expand that a bit too and include our screen names with it. But in the meantime, I'll copy and add to get the ball rolling...
