I will most likely print my invites...that calligraphy font seems interesting...I will probably look into that.

However my FMIL does Calligraphy, so my FI already told her she had to do the envelopes...

Great idea Janet. My mom was going to do them with a regular ink pen in her 1950's cursive - you know how everyone had to learn precise penmanship in the old days? LOL Anyway that would have worked too. I think you shouldn't fuss too much because the envelopes are the first thing in the trash anyway.

Do your own Calligraphy: Find a great font on dafont.com and download. Print on your computer your guest names and addresses.. using a light box or if you have a glass coffee table clamp a bright light underneath, place your printed paper inside the envelope.. use a calligraphy pen and TRACE!!

I have a girlfriend who offered to do ours, but I thought this idea was great and super crafty.
I read this DIY cheat tip a while ago too and thought it was the greatests thing ever! I haven't thought that far in advance about addressing my invites but this sound like something I could do, especially since I didn't realize printing labels for invites was not very etiquette friendly, at least according to the Budget Bio over at the Knot.
Any suggestions on free fonts to download that look like calligraphy?

I just figured I would print them out using Microsoft Word's calligraphy font. Has anyone else done this and has it turned out nice?

Alright, I just addressed my niece's first birthday invites on gorgeous pink metallic paper. They were super cute, if I do say so myself. Anyway, my sister got hers in the mail... and told me it was pointless to do so much work on the envelope since the post office distroyed it! With all of their stamps, you couldn't read the return address... and then they got black ink all over it as well. Booo. Now I know that when I get married I will FOR SURE not waste my time doing them by hand!!!
