Office workout for the day... more story for this workout

"Make it a daily challenge to find ways to be more active and move more"

This is a (5-minute) workout that can be done at home in the kitchen or at the office. The only thing needed is a CHAIR and YOU. For the advanced, add weights or time for more intensity (think ankle weights - you know, those ones you can strap on for walking?!?). Source." Jamel Davenport, lifestyle and fitness expert.

SEATED LEG EXTENSION

Place feet in front of body, about shoulder-width apart. With hands at sides, or on arm rests, extend legs forward and point toes toward the ceiling. Rest and repeat.

* This exercise can be done by lifting one leg or both. Continue motion for 1 minute.

Ok Meghan, on my way to do these leg extensions...then abs...then some elliptical...all while watching Sesame Street!

Finishing my coffee first though!!

Thanks for the motivation...I think I should try on my dress too! That should motivate my butt! :o)

GREAT thread! Thanks for posting!

I have been having a weight loss competition with 2 of my bridesmaids (started 2 weeks ago and pot is $100 to the winner) and so far I'm in 2nd place... sad.gif

So aside from my super sleek dress, I have cash on the line here!

I have to admit I haven't been as good as I could, but from here on out, I'm determined to slim down and tone up!!

Our wedding days are a once in a lifetime opportunity to look absolutely fabulous, so next time we pick up that cookie (my personal weakness!) or chips or anything white (bread, rice, pasta) or creamy (mayo, dressing), think about your hips/butt/thighs/muffin top/flabby arms, whatever and step away!

We can do this, ladies! muscle.gif

Funny you should say that, SuzyQ, I've been thinking about putting a picture of my dress up in our (newly designated lol) exercise room for motivation!

Thanks for the at work exercises- I'm at work now so maybe I'll give them a try. Hope my co-workers don't think I'm a crazy person (anymore than they already do, that is).

I am in....I can't beleive we have 6 months!!! My dress isn't in yet and I hope I fit in it. I ordered it a little small. So I need this! I have lost 20 pounds over the last 3 months but want to loose another 10-15. I go to the gym everyday but I get a lot of ideas and motivation from Oxygen Magazine and thier website!!! LOVE IT !!muscle.gif

Adelaide......I love Zumba. It is so much fun. Unfortunatley I injured my knee a week ago and all the dancing and twisting in Zumba isn't good for it. I hope to go back in a week or so!!

Hahahaha, I should do that too, but the real motivation is hanging in my closet haunting me!!! FI hasn't seen it yet he has soooo much control it's ridiculous, I'm like a kid at Christmas, if I know there's a gift or something I haven't seen I won't stop until I find it!!!
Funny story about my dress, at time of purchase it was too big...not way too big - but I want it TIGHT!!! lol
Then I went on vacation back home for about a month and a half...When I got back I tried it on and I couldn't even zip the damn thing up - like nowhere near fitting in it!!! I am back in it now, but just! The girls are tucked in pretty tight! Breathing, eating, and sitting aren't really an option at this point!
This, my friends, is my motivation!! lol
