Cigar Roller? Yes? No? Why?

I saw in a magazine that a couple got a cigar roller for their reception. My fiance loves this idea. I kinda think it sounds cool too. Is anyone out there getting a cigar roller? If so, can you share some information. If not, can you tell me why?

I am not going to be much more helpful. But I know I read one review and loved the idea as well - my FI and friends love the idea too. But the review said that it was kind of a waste of money just because people were more into dancing and the music (or something). It was one of those items that they said they couldn't have done without - but it wasn't that anything bad happened. I'd hunt the reviews and search for "cigar" - I am still thinking of doing this though, I think it would be fun, but it depends on cost.

I will see if I can find the post ...

We are also looking into using a cigar roller, and it's my fi's favorite idea, so it's pretty definite :)

We were worried about people not being interested as well, and our coordinator came up with a fantastic idea. We are also having a tequila tasting, so we are going to set them up together in an area "on the sidelines" of the reception, so people will sort of notice and hopefully be interested in it. Our coordinator also recommended we have it set up and somehow draw attention to the stations immediately following dinner, before people really get into dancing. Plus, the guys especially will probably enjoy a good cigar and some tequila after their bellies are full shots.gif

I am defenitly doing this. This is the only thing that my FI wants and I think it is a great idea. At least I know our male friends and they love this kind of stuff so I think it is def worth it. Plus so many things in weddings are really for girl guests and I think it is a nice to give something to guys that they can really enjoy. Thanks Ann for posting links!

I am definately doing this!!! I believe an event should have a wow factor and this is a resonable way to do so...$300.

We are having the roller at the Welcome party since they give some free cigars and the guys can have them the entire weekend.

I originally wanted the roller at our cocktail hour but FI vetoed that. I am now glad that he did.

Some of the complaints by memory:

Not everyone is interested in cigars so they stayed away and didn't utilize.

Cigar roller isn't very interactive... people won't ooh and aah over tobacco being rolled.

Free cigars offered were presented at the end of the evening so guests still had to pay.

you all just gave me a great idea...I should have a little wine tasting going on? I will have to see what we can work out...thanks ladies...by the way if I mentioned this to my fiance he would be totally into a cigar roller, but I would imagine combining it with a tequila tasting would help.
