Unlike traditional wedding celebrations, Indian Weddings often span over the course of several days with a series of special cultural ceremonies and practices.
Some of those gatherings include the Mehndi and Sangeet ceremonies, which are typically held a few days before the Wedding Day. A Sangeet ceremony involves a celebration with lots of singing, dancing and music, and traditionally takes place prior to the Mehndi ceremony, which is the ritual of applying henna to the bride in preparation for the wedding. During the Mehndi ceremony, the bride and other female guests have henna or mehndi design patterns applied to their hands and feet.
Earlier this year, the design and decor team at Grupo Gama (which is based in Cancun/Riviera Maya, Mexico) created an incredibly bright and beautiful display for these festive ceremonies at the Moon Palace Golf & Spa Resort in one of their many outdoor open spaces -- perfect for hosting both large and small wedding celebrations.
