My fiance and I will be having our destination wedding this summer in Riviera Maya, Mexico at the Iberostar Paraiso Maya Resort. Our travel agent as well as friends suggested us going early to do our honeymoon first since we obviously don't want to honeymoon with our families around. Has anyone done this or considered this? Pros and cons? Currently, we are scheduled to arrive in Mexico on a Wednesday (just the two of us). We will stay from Wednesday-Wednesday for our honeymoon. Our family and friends will be arriving that following Thursday and our wedding will be held on the Friday. We then plan to spend Saturday and Sunday with our guests and fly back Monday. Thoughts?
