i'm sure you're fine. i was just worried that if i sent them out too early i would get an unrealistic number of "yes"s.

We have a good idea of who's going b/c our STD said to let us know if they were a yes, no or maybe. it's the maybe's that worry me.
We did almost the exact thing, except a little earlier with the STDs (July). My invitations are ready to be mailed for my May wedding and I'll probably do it in the next 2 weeks. I put March 15 as the RSVP date. I already know who is coming for the most part, I just want to nail down the "maybes" at least 2 months ahead of time.

Ditto! RSVP date is exactly 2 months before the wedding, exactly 1 month before the room block ends.

I think it also depends on how big your wedding is ... I'm getting married March 8th. We got engaged in August and sent out STD's in September. We sent out our formal invites after Christmas. Our RSVP deadline was 2 weeks before we have to release the room block for the hotel. However, the final count for the activities and reception aren't needed until 30 days before.

We're only having 35 to 40 people ... so we've been in contact with everyone pretty frequently. But, even with a small group, it's been a lot of work --- so if you've got a bigger group, I would definitely allow a bit more time!
