wedding dress at dinner?

J&M

Recommended Posts

hello girls.. I have a question that might seem alittle silly but Im unsure of what to do, My wedding time is for 12 noon and my dinner isnt until 6:30. My original plan was to not wear my gown to the dinner, instead I bought a nice dinner dress, but my mother feels like I should be putting my wedding dress back on for the dinner. My thoughts were that, once the wedding dress is off, it should not be worn again. Any opinions?

I don't really think it matters all that much, whatever you want to do and what'll make you feel comfortable. If you don't really want to wear at dinner, don't!!

Personally, I would, but only because my dress makes me feel like a princess - and why not feel like a princess all day!! wink.gif

I agree with the other girls...i think you should do whatever makes you feel the most comfortable. personally, i'm going to wear my wedding dress as long as possible because its just fun to swoosh around in, but its your day so you should wear whichever dress you want to dinner.

I totally wore my dress at dinner. I didn't have that long to change b/c everything got pushed back and I got married at 4:30 pictures till 5:15. Ran up to get my mom to her room. And then it was dinner. But I still wouldn't of changed. I loved feeling like a bride in my dress. Plus we took pictures of cutting the cake and I wanted to be in my dress for that. But whatever you want to do you should. It's YOUR Wedding not anyone elses!

Don't make a finial decision right now?? Bring both dresses down and see what happens. Do what will make you happy and comfortable. After a hot afternoon and pictures in a "big" wedding a dress you may decide you want to change, just to be comfortable.

A lot will depend on the style of wedding dress and the temperature that day.

Personally, I have a different dress for dinner. It is a little shorter and smaller, so I don't have to worry about my dress getting dragged around on the ground all evening or the temperature. My Bridesmaids are also changing for the reception.

I didn't have that time gap, but I wore my wedding dress up until the first dance. After that I changed into a much needed lightweight white sundress number. You could always put it back on for dinner/pics then change again. There are few rules for a DW so definitely do what you want...but I know how moms are with the "you should" statements...lol
