what about asking suzanne, I'm sure if she works in the area, she's probably worked at most resorts, and may know if you need to get her a day pass or what needs to be done.

So..back to the DJ thing. I heard back from Kim from PSAV Presentation Services (the DJ service Dreams must use). He said that we would be able to send him a list of songs we'd like played at the reception. If they didn't have the song on file, they'd get it for us, no problem. He also said their DJ was an MC, and we'd be able to meet at the resort before the wedding to go over details. I think I'm going to go for it. What do you gals think about the lighting part? Package #1 ($800) is for 4 hours, no lighting. Package #2 ($1250) includes fixed lighting. Package #3 ($1550) adds robotic lamps. I don't know much about lighting. What do you think? Also will 4 hours be enough? I'm thinking ceremony will be at 4:00 with a couple of group pics afterward, cocktail hour 5:00-6:00 (with Mariachis....I think)...dinner at 6:30. Music has to stop at 11:00? Is that right?

I don't know much about lighting either, I would go for package 2. I don't think you need the robotic lamps.

Does music have to end at 11? I know in cabo it does, but I'm not sure about cancun, but that would be good to know.

Also, susan, I know you've been there before, could you tell me about the nightlife at dreams. I mean, I know its a family resort, so I know its not like spring break, which is a good thing, but how late are the bars open and do any of them have a dj at night or any entertainment. I'm just trying to think about after the reception or if we just do dinner and no private reception if there will be something for us to do in the resort.

The resort was really very quiet when we were there last October. Maybe 50% capacity. The bars (of which there are several) were open to at least midnight, if I'm remembering correctly, but no live entertainment. I'm not sure about the 11pm thing either. I saw that someone else posted that time, and just assumed that it was probably the same at all Dreams locations, but I could be wrong.

Anyway...if you are looking for a party scene...some of the popular clubs are in very easy walking distance from the hotel (just a couple of blocks).

Almost forgot...there is a Salsa club, Azúcar, next door to Dreams (and somewhat affiliated with resort). It's a pretty nice place, but not part of the AI, I think Dreams guests get 2 free drinks, but then have to pay. They do have a DJ though.

The topic has come up in some of the other recent threads.... maybe we've gone over this before, but I just want to double check.

Does Dreams charge for using outside vendors for photography and videography? I am going with Paul Schrank for video and Claudia Rodriguez for photo.
